Mundo Doesn't Feel Very Tanky Anymore

I used to be a hypertank but lately it feels like I melt way too fast to be useful. I've thought about why and I think the main culprits are:

people being more familiar with healing champions like Swain or Vladimir and thus itemizing Grievous Wounds more (plus Mortal Reminder got buffed)
more % HP (think Illaoi) in the meta and just more damage in general (carry tops like Irelia and Riven have come back, Infernal/Elder buffs etc.)
more resistance shred primarily because BC has become a more attractive item

Anyone else notice this? Mundo feels quite lackluster now especially. I hardly ever go where I please these days! His melee range being 125 is a bit annoying too given he has no gap closer. You have champions like Naut or Sion with way more play making in their kit while also having 175 range.

Well to be fair, Mundo isn't a tank. He has to walk up to his opponents to cause his damage, while most actual tanks have ways to keep their opponents from running away.

Mundo is fine. Max his Q 1st, then his AD buff. Start item 3068 item 3065 Those 2 items alone make him God. Once you add item 3748 item 3083 , he becomes unstoppable. I normally finish his build with a item 3026

By you saying item 3123 , red buff, summoner 14 and elder dragon are a problem. You're basically saying you want to go back to the God tier days of Mundo in S5 when he had no counterplay.

I actually feel that executioner's calling was nerfed too hard from it's original form after it was brought back. It used to have DoT, Critical, AD and gold farming while it's GW effect reduced healing by 65%, now all it does is apply a 40% reduced healing effect. Which by itself, isn't enough to stop Mundo.

There are many other points than just God tier. I'm not even saying Mundo is that much weaker but people itemize better vs him than they used to when Swain and Vlad weren't meta. Mundo SHOULD do a lot of damage and be very tanky since he has nothing else. He's no Malphite or Naut.

Mundo is a good champion, what youre asking for him to be is godly. Mundo is a great champion to take against certain melle tops. I would take mundo against Garen Rengar Nasus Yasuo Tryndamere and a bunch more

Mundo's not in a good state but not terrible. He's just not strong enough to be worth picking for any role and that's why he isn't either by us or by pros.

If your enemies have bad builds and don't buy Executioner, BoRK, Bloodrazor, Liandry's, VS etc. it's easy to do that. Vs competent opponents, it's another matter regardless of build.
