unpopular opinion. tanks ruin this game when they are meta.

thats just for me. while I do play a few tanks when they are meta. they absolutely ruin this game

they make too many champions unbearable to play trying to dps them down in team fights takes forever for these certain picks. and its not enjoyable at all to play or play agains.

especially when said tanks sole job is just to smother you with slows and CC the entire fight.

i personally do not see the point or enjoy having a poppy or nunu lay their cc slows and crap on me in a team fight while being unkillable.

Tanks being meta don't ruin the game, any class being unbalanced ruins the game.

When any class is too dominant the game suffers, and assassins are the ones running amok right now ruining the game. When tanks are meta and they are too strong and dealing the damage of carries then yeah the game is terrible, but when tanks are meta because they can tank damage everything is fine as long as marksmen are strong enough to act as their check in the checks and balance system. The same mid laners check marksmen, and tanks check mid laners etc.

Assassin meta is worse. Tanks being meta means that carry positioning matters, support pealing becomes necessary and team fights last longer than a second. Assassins being meta means you need to pick an assassin

Unpopular opinion: that’s the case with most metas. Any meta where you start seeing the same thing over and over ruin the fun for the game unless you are actively benefiting from that meta (and even then there are exceptions, leading to people hating metas they should like).

It’s why asking for legacy servers or old metas has always bewildered me. You’re basically asking the game to stay in one area and never change.

Tanks being OP can make for a boring game. When the tank deals as much damage as anyone else and can 1v1 people - then yes, it's bad.

However when tanks are good at their job and are meta, the game is great. EVERYONE gets to play and do their part. When a tank can lock down enemy targets for good periods of time and tank a lot of damage as the front line, but isn't dealing much damage himself and rather his allies are dealing good damage for free to whoever the tank locks down - THAT'S good gameplay and fun to play in any role.

Assassins are the only class the dislike tanks, as it's an extra person beyond the support that can peel them off their target. However they can still function with tanks in the game, it just requires the player have some decent decision making for once, rather than slap the keyboard and type "outplayed".
