Let's say I want to play Shyvana top... what do I build on her now?

The go-to item for a toplane bruiser/fighter is item 3071, but it seems like a waste to buy considering roughly half of her damage is magic. For other hybrid champs like Jax and Kayle, something like item 3146 or item 3124 is appropriate but Shyvana doesn't have meaningful AP scalings where her damage is, which is her W and the on-hit debuff from E (although seeing ult damage is really satisfying if you build full AP trolololo). I guess you can still rush item 3153 and then build tank... it jsut seems to me like a lot of other fighters and bruisers got much better items synergy-wise when they released the brusier patch. Granted she's fallen out of meta since this jerk was invented Gnar, but I still like her. She was one of the first champions I ever unlocked permanently.

Thought/suggestions? Maybe item 3074 if you're doing well and then swap for item 3748 once you build some hp?

item 3068 into item 3153 seems to be what Champion.gg suggests. It makes sense to me because honestly Shy is really squishy early and that's just bad for a champion that needs up-time on the enemy in order to auto-attack them to death. After that get a item 3742, which is practically mandatory on all fighters nowadays.

item 3124 would be interesting to try, because honestly it doesn't matter if your AP scalings are shit, that item is just OP right now.

I prefer tanky Shyv.. You still have some damage but you survive longer to dish it out. I only did a trial run in Dominion though and don't play her at all really.

Shyvana top honestly isn't very good no matter how you build her. However, if you insist on playing her top lane, I think a core of Sunfire-Botrk-Titanic is your best bet. Cleaver isn't actually half bad either; I built it a ton on Shyvana jungle last year to go along with Botrk and Sated Devourer. The %health damage from botrk combined with the armor shred and AD from Cleaver actually adds up to a substantial amount of physical damage.

Mallet/Tri-force first then whatever you want.
