What I find interesting about the Normal Draft/Flex Queue Argument.

"Here's dynamic queue"

"Ugh, this is just a glorified normal draft. Not competitive in any way. Nobody cares about their rank in this mode and people just play whatever."

#Season 7

"We're making DQ into Flex Queue and replacing normal draft with it."

"WTF HOW COULD YOU DO THIS I DONT WANT TO PLAY RANKED EVERYONE WILL TRY HARD AND I JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN."

Seriously, all of a sudden dynamic queue is hyper competitive and normal draft was a fun mode where everyone just "had fun" and nobody tried that hard. Suddenly DQ ranks mean the world and it's serious business. That's some pretty horrible hypocrisy going on here. Either DQ isn't competitive at all and ranks don't matter or it IS competitive and the rank you get in DQ DOES matter.

You can't flip the argument when you don't like the outcome.

It isn't more competitive than Solo/Duo Queue, but it is still a ranked queue. Ranked queues are, by default, more competitive than normal queues.

If they insist on removing a normal queue, then they should remove Blind. It is pretty much pointless.

It is the situation like plants. Upon announcement and test in pre-season, people do not like it. But when it becomes apart of the season, it grows and people adapt. The difference is that we won't like Plants.

The issue is that these are likely different players speaking out. Also a lot of players want 1 truly competitive mode and 1 more casual mode that they can practice in. Blind picks is awful for practicing since you can get mirror matches and there is no guarantee for your position short of autolocking (which most ppl take issue with).

Why can't we have both a competitive game mode, and an unranked game mode that otherwise functions exactly the same?

Isn't that Draft now? I mean, a bit more lax, but isn't that still Draft? Rank- serious Draft- Orderly process of choosing champs, lax game Blind- Utter Chaos

Currently we have Ranked (DQ), Draft Normals, Blind Pick and the other queues (ARAM, TT, etc.)

In Season 7 it'll be ranked Solo/Duo, ranked Flex (DQ), normal draft only in certain regions, blind pick and other queues.

People are upset that Riot is/wants to remove normal draft and replace it with flex queue, which is the same thing save for having tier restrictions and a number attached to your account.

Shit i forgot the tier restriction for Flex queue. Yeah I definitely will quit league if they get rid of it in NA. I play with ppl at a bunch of different ranks, from Diamond to Silver, if we can't queue together outside of blinds we'll just go find another game

No, we only play like that in normals. I personally haven't played ranked with a queue partner yet, and will likely continue to keep it that way.

i wouldn't pay the loud voices of this community any mind. it's always a select few who think they are the voice of reason and are always right. it's only a matter of time before the petitions start though so everyone get ready.

I wish you would phrase this properly, NA and EWU are keeping there Normal draft. Other regions are losing there's cause it had the usage = of the domain map.

No one on the NA boards should be flipping out about normal draft going away (cause it is not). EUNE players that care should go to the EU boards to post their misgivings as it is a regional issue not a global one.

You the OP are taking this out of context.

Riot understands that the NA player base would completely lose it if normal draft was taken away. Especially since it is one of the few Qs left were rank mixing can happen. If nothing else Riot learned to be careful about modifying Qs from 2016.

They stated that normal draft would ideally be removed from all servers.

That is cause for concern.

No it is not a concern.

It means riot wants X but they understand the back lash would push off a significant part of the NA population. Riot has learned want does not mean best course and this proves it.

Riot admits less than 1/4 of the total population of NA server plays rank.

They want, and know they can not responsibly do. Hence ideally.

Hell i would be willing to bet that most of the player base plays normal draft over any other SR mode.
