AS Fizz. Was this intended, Riot?

darkdill··3 votes·623 views

Fizz players are eschewing the AP builds for jungle builds that emphasize attack speed due to how the active on Seastone Trident now works. Seeing as Fizz is meant to primarily be an assassin, not a fighter (even if that is his secondary role), I don't think Riot intended for Fizz to be picking up BoRKs.

Any comment, Meddler? Or any other Rioter?

Who cares if it was intended, it's neat and it works and it's fairly balanced, maybe a little on the strong side.

Because it's not what Fizz is intended to do.

How is "it's not what he was intended to do" an argument?

darkdill1 votes

Because Riot has used that argument before when nerfing Champions.

Wasn't around for it, but reminds me of removing AP MasterYi

AP Yi was 100% toxic. If he got even one kill/assist, he'd ace your entire team, and his Meditate would restore him from near-death to full health pretty much instantly.

The thing is from what I've read, Alpha had a 100% AP scaling, and meditate had an insane scaling on it as well. And that wuju was based on AD still (please tell me if I'm wrong). But the thing is, they could've had it where he has offensively viable dual scalings like Jax, just nerfed.

And honestly, I agree in removing the 100% (including to the ultimate itself if I'm not mistaken) resets but think that it couldn've been fine at 80% maybe? And I wasn't around to play it (as I've already said), would have been cool for another offensively viable dual scaling champ. (I'm 99% sure there are other champs who have dual scalings aside from Jax however he's the only one I can think of at the moment.) (Does new Tristana have AP scaling?)

(double post sorry) EDIT: Apparently AP Yi meditate had 400% scaling

How is "it's not what he was intended to do" an argument?

He has more sustained damage now on top of invinci frames with a tank build. Tell me is that really intended when they want him to be an assassin and even said so on the nerf. They said they wanted him to kill a target and get out instead of kill a target come back and kill someone 5s later then rinse repeat.

So yes this is high unintended. Especially considering he scales off AP and not a single bit off of AD unless you count Q aa proc.

imo its more toxic than AP

Oh yeah? Non-CDR, non-mana Fizz, who doesn't troll pole every 5 seconds, is more toxic than dodges-for-days AP fizz?

How is Fizz toxic? People don't like his E because it makes him untargetable. Ooh. It also costs 130 mana. And is also his main damage source. And his escape. And his only CC other than his ult. And his best chasing ability. And his main teamfight tool. What is his Q? A Lich Bane proc. Nothing more. What is his W? A Lich Bane proc since it was gutted in 5.2. That's it. What is his R? An unreliable skillshot that makes Fizz useless if it doesn't land. It is also quite useless late game since he doesn't have enough burst to kill you if you have 3 k health. So sorry if he gets to have his E on a 4.8 second cooldown at 40% cdr. Fizz needs it or else he would be played less than Urgot and Yorick.

His main damage source? Maybe for farming, but not in team fights.

I have mained Fizz since level 20. If you want to tell me his Q is more reliable go ahead. Honestly Lich Bane is his best damage source.

But he was toxic af before. Now he is toxic for completely different reasons. He puts out a shit ton of dps and doesn't die. You act like a 1:1 scaling is terrible on an AoE. You act like a double lich bane proc isn't strong because it sure as hell was before. He shouldn't kill anyone built tank and he was doing that before through sheer burst and now he can do it while living and being an utter nuisance in team fights because he bursts and does dps and doesn't die when caught.

Tell me how is it not toxic to blow someone up with 0 reaction time. HOW IS THAT FAIR TO THE PERSON HIT. You have approx. 5s to deal with him and he didn't even need his ult for a kill before. Now he doesn't need it because it is pure CC to let him AA you to death before you can react.

You obviously are extremely biased in your excuses.

Adding a spammable execute to an ability completely is the problem with Fizz now. If they were to just revert his damage over time to an execute he would be dealable now.

I said this based off my standpoint. I build Fizz AP. Not the AD crap that people like. I think that is what you though I was talking about. If not, then you are high as fuq.

I agree, missing every single skill and then still killing in 2-3 AAs is balanced. Even though AP Fizz wasn't that much better.

The only difference is that AA Fizz isn't really fun to play, well at least for me, i really preferred playing AP Fizz

The real problem with fiz is that he counters nidalee i mean a fish cant counter a cat its just un-natural

maybe if theyd make it the size of max range cho gath and call it shizz but like this its just weird

Juggernaut6281 votes

Fizz is now becoming a balanced champion in every role. He is the balanced Nidalee and the balanced Lee Sin. While not intended, if that is what it takes to keep Fizz from getting another "nerf" (5.2 was a buff to his useless ult and his kit all together, but made his W useless and unviable) then I am all for it. Me myself go AP Fizz jungle because it does scale a lot better into mid game and has better ganks with lower cooldowns for your E's slow and your Q's dash. The main reason why I don't Fizz jungle isn't because it is bad, but because it's a lot more fun to play someone like Volibear that can 1v1 the "OP" champions like Master Yi, Katarina, Lee Sin, possibly Vi and J4, Jayce, Nidalee, etc. No matter what there is no reason to do anything about this, or at least anytime soon due to other problems with the game (bugs, balance, metas, reworks, etc.)

Well there's AS assassin Nocturne & Master Yi, so what's wrong with AS Fizz?

SmknWdl1 votes

Who gives a ****. I love it! Finally a bit of change. Although I doubt riot intended it, considering how meta based they are :p

t0ad51 votes

As someone that stopped trying to get mid, due to associated drama, I sure hope they don't ruin jungle fizz, else one less mechanically fun champ to play.

SmokingPuffin1 votes

Probably not intended.

We surprise Riot all the time.

My favorite one is that Riot intended Diana to be a jungler. The lols. Worst pre-6 ganks NA, crazy level 6 power spike, and they thought we'd jungle her.

So she is just like Warwick?
