A heads up, I really don't care about your opinions, so downvote and troll all you want, I really just don't care.

"Yasuo’s on our radar as a champ who’s probably too strong at present. Now that we’ve got most of the pre-season follow up work done, we’ll be putting more focus back onto general champion balance. That means for patch 7.1 (the next patch we’re currently working, which will likely go out in early January) or 7.2 we’ll be looking at champs like Yasuo, Hecarim, Syndra, etc."

I hope you are joking and not giving into the the stupidity of the people on this forum, again. All Yasuo ever gets is nerfs. You nerfed him into the ground a few seasons ago and he had the lowest winrate in game. You nerfed his core build to address adc, but all you did was nerf him when you changed I.E. and Shiv and other items he needs. Hell, he can't even use shiv properly anymore. You just nerfed him because he was building tanky, even tough so many other champions build tank and have safe trading and you won't address it. He has a 48% win rate and you say he is too strong? Where the hell are the annie nerfs, she is unapproachable in fights while her ultimate is up and she can one hit you. Where are the nerfs for lee sin, who is just pure cancer. Where are the amumu nerfs? You bloody well know he is far more broken than most champions. You are not even addressing anyone else in terms of kits and strengths who aren't above 50% win rate, but here we go with Yasuo again because idiot people on this forum keep crying about him while they can't outplay him or don't know how to counter pick.

For Yasuo specifically the first job’s going to be an assessment of whether he’s performing better than he should for his intended strengths and weaknesses. That’s both in terms of time in game (e.g. laning/early strength versus late strength) and circumstance (e.g. when snowballed, or when paired with specific allies or against specific enemies). We haven’t started diving this yet, so there’s not much specifically to share. But Yasuo will probably show up in a patch note sooner rather than later.

He is a "Slayer" by your own words. He is intended to kill and kit how he does. Yasuo isn't even in first place as a mid laner or top laner. He is like 6th mid and 15 top. But let us not address oriana because she isn't Yasuo, right? Ermmm well obviously pairing Yasuo with Malphite or a knock up champion is better then say pairing him with garen.... like how would that show you anything? As for snowballing, umm anyone ahead snowballs. But even ahead, one stun and yasuo is dead. If the other team can't stun or counter pick, that is them, not yasuo. I have been 25/10 in my kda before, only to be knocked up by a Xin who built nothing but speed and who killed me before I landed. He was like 5 kills in. But Yasuo is broken right? Of course Yasuo will show up sooner or late, you people are trolls and nerf/buff champions who don't need it.

I just need to poke in here.

Annie and Amumu are -NOT- broken. They're VERY predictable.

If you see an Annie with stun up, chances are she's ulti-stunning you. If Amumu is RUNNING AT YOUR FACE, IT'S NOT HARD TO SEE HE'S COMING TO Q ULTI.

The reason why Yasuo is so " broken " is because no matter what Riot does, a new build will spring up which will make him " Broken. "

His kit is the reason why it's broken. Abdo ( Korea/Chinese best player " He's on par with faker " ) said that the key to getting high elo is play Yas. It's almost impossible to ever lose if you play him correctly. His kit is overbloated and no matter how far back you push him, he can always snowball out of control.

as is Yasuo, but Yasuo can't one hit you with entire kit, tibbers and amumu can easily take you down.

Obviously, but not being able to get near them to fight means they need changes to their damage.

That is what counter picks are for. Stun him and no matter what build he is done. He constantly has new kits because they nerf all of his items and him again and again for no reason.

His kit isn't broken. Yet no one plays yas in high elo, so clearly no. Not really, get counter picked and you lose. .....His kit isn't overbloated. Snowballing out of control applies to all champions.

Well DUH, those two are slow and immobile- therefore they have mega CC to make up for it. They are two completely different champions than Yas so why compare them? And honestly they are doing fine and Riot thinks so too. And if you hadn't noticed, Annie is the counter to mobility so of course she's going to let Tibbers tear your face off if you get too close. Same with Amumu, he just has a Q to help him get close and ult, otherwise he's a bit slow.

Obviously, but not being able to get near them to fight means they need changes to their damage.

Uh, NO. Definitely not a good reason for that. Look at Yas- he gets close to deal a lot of damage. Annie and Amumu- they stay farther out to deal a lot of damage. Doesn't mean they need nerfs just for that. Yas needs nerfs because of his kit and Riot tends to think so just like many other people. Also there are a lot less people complaining about them than Yasuo.

That is what counter picks are for. Stun him and no matter what build he is done. He constantly has new kits because they nerf all of his items and him again and again for no reason.

Abuse Annie and Amumu's weaknesses and they are done too (slow mobility, little to no escapes, etc. Building magic resist doesn't hurt either).

LOL keep thinking that kid. His kit is broken and overloaded, thanks to CertainlyT. Nice try but wrong.

Then how is it that you can compare your slow champions when you cry about Yasuo's mobility, when they are as you put it "different champions". and of course riot thinks so. They make the most money off annie and those champions so they wont touch them. Facing someone who is able to stun and one hit anyone vs someone who needs all game to build items to deal damage to you. Right seems fair.

Well people are crying people of Yasuo's dash so that means his entire kit is fine. He is meant to get is close fast, annie is meant to do a lot of damage and you see how everyone plays their role. Of course no one complains about annie and amumu their all riding the yasuo hate circle jerk. Riot themselves said they would never buff annie or amumu because of how broken they would end up.

Abuse Annie and Amumu's weaknesses and they are done too (slow mobility, little to no escapes, etc. Building magic resist doesn't hurt either).

They trade their mobility for their power to insta kill an entire team. Yasuo has mobility and all of his attack combined cant kill one person without being super fed and far ahead.

LOL keep thinking that kid. His kit is broken and overloaded, thanks to CertainlyT. Nice try but wrong.

It isn't overloaded child. You not beng able to outplay him isn't in any way a reflection of his kit just your skills.

Instant downvote. After that I read the post and tried to downvote again.

Yasuo is a similar case to Azir and on a lesser degree to Kalista. He does a bit too much more than a champion like him should.

He's a melee hyper carry. Those champions have been historically known for their 1v1 (or up to 1v3 depending on the situation) power, ability to split push and incapacity to team fight properly unless massively ahead due to lack of utility. Their kits consisted of a damage steroid or two, a gap closer and a situational defensive option. It has always been a very selfish kit.

Then Yasuo came. He had everything an hyper carry should: steroids, situational defenses, gap closers. But then his situational defense came in the form of Windwall, which can be used not only for himself, but also for his whole team. Not only that, one of his steroids, situational as it may be, extends knock ups for an extra second (which is usually 50% to 100% of the duration of common knock ups). This gives him GREAT team fight presence, something all other hyper melee carries lacked and were balanced around. This creates an extremely hard kit to balance, simply because it does too much too well. Winning? Just rolfstomp anyone who tries to opose you. Losing? Not a problem, you still provide enough utility to be useful.

Steroids? He needs a lot of items to deal damage. Feeding him or letting him farm for it is your fault. Situational defense you can just poke or bait out..... A windwall blocking missels for 4 seconds. wooww That 4 seconds must be hard to not blast out every single one of your attacks into. He can team fight only if he has someone to knock them up, otherwise he is on the back end trying not to die because he is a squishy. He goes in he is dead. No other hyper carries were balanced around anything. A fed xin can 5v1 easier than a yasuo ever could. It doesn't do anything too much. Not being able to bait him and outplay him because your agro doesn't make it to much.

melee adc utility are less reliable than a support utility

yasuo knock up for instance has a cast animation+is a skillshot+takes 3.99 seconds to be ready

Vekkna1 votes

OH NOES! A 3.99 second effective CD on a piercing skillshot CC that's immune to tenacity.

HORROR!

Sona x Rubick1 votes

so it's less reliable? i can't see what's wrong with this statement

TequilaZombie1 votes

I'm not underestimating it. If anything else I might be overestimating it.

I've always had as a core concept that carries should have only small amounts of utility and compensate for that in terms of raw damage. If any utility should be given for them, something in a more selfish sense would be better than a team wide buff/heal/MS boost/whatever.

And to be honest, I've always felt that_** in a vacuum**_, Master Yi is the best possible concept for a melee Carry. 3 steroids, 2 gap closers and two situational defenses, 1 of which is really great if used properly and one easier to use with smaller results. The problem is that true melee hyper carries (glass cannons that do nothing but high damage) don't have a real place in today's League.

That I'd say is mostly because of the abundance of self peel combined with overall CC, which makes them somewhat weak team fighters unless given powerful utility tools, which, IMO makes them closer to high damage bruisers than actual melee hyper carries.

This is, IMO, what makes Yasuo an annoying champion to face to most people. He was a crap load of utility packed in his kit. The 7 possible dashes in lane every 10 (??) seconds. The shield every couple seconds to mitigate poke. A zoning tool that can be up every 20 seconds without much effort ("but Annie and TF also zone hard!!" Annie is probably one of the top 10 hated champions on the forums and TF got his ability to zone with gold card reduced already, it might be a hint of something very annoying). The AoE Skill Shot/point and click Knock Up. The shield refresh on Ult. The AoE Anivia-Wall-Wide projectile Block. Individually, none of those things are inherently bad on themselves, the biggest problem is combining all of it into one kit of a hyper carry.

But that's basicly my opinion as someone who dropped out of a Game Design college.

PS: Note that I'm not saying he's broken, I'm just stating my opinion on why I think his kit is inherently annoying to play against in the same sense as Azir's or Kalista's or Aatrox's.

PPS: Why did Sona x Rubrik deleted his post? He brought some good points to the table.

Ralanr1 votes

Nor do I. I was agreeing with him.

Sona x Rubick1 votes

i didn't delete my post,my post was deleted because i said insults which is my bad

concerning my post, utility is needed on a carry, and not only yasuo has utility on his kit as a carry, even ADC have all strong utility.

why? because if they didn't they would be all the same, and they would be no bueno if they fall behind

i don't want every melee carry to all be master yi

Yasuo's utility isn't even strong,it's good but not oppressive, the problem of yasuo is that unlike other skirmisher he has an easy way to engage which is ally knock ups. Solution: remove ulti on allies his other problem is that he artificially increases his early game power due to 1 sec cd dash which makes him able to trade in lane easily. solution: increase the cd of his E to 1.5/1.25/1/0.75/0.5 sec

I don't disagree with that, but I am pointing out that other champions have been doing that for years and never get addressed.

Ralanr7 votes

Because usually when people point out other examples they bring up champions that are intended to be tanky and do damage or champions that they heavily underestimate in damage output.

Yeah, tanks like Poppy hurt more than people expect. But they don't take towers as fast as people who build AD (and last I checked, you need to destroy the nexus to win the game).

Ekko, Yasuo, and Fizz remove all weaknesses when they get tanky because they are not only so mobile that they can avoid damage, but become so durable that messing up their dodging doesn't really punish them. Combine that with how they don't sacrifice enough damage and you get an unhealthy mess.

SO do the juggernauts. SO do tanks. SO do adc. Anyone with a high base damage that goes tanky can remove all weakness and remain very powerful. Akali was a tank for many patches. Lee sin has been doing it since release, I don't see them being addressed.

Ralanr6 votes

Juggernauts and tanks getting tanky and having high bases does not remove their weakness. Their weaknesses are being kited.

Imagine if there was an item that allowed you to have a bunch of targeted dashes on a short cooldown. Now imagine every juggernaut building it. That's the level of broken Tank Yasuo was, literally removing their entire weakness without losing strengths.

Darius is tanky and hurts but he's slow and can't catch people outside of a short range long cooldown hook. If you can kite Darius than you can kill him. It's the same with Nasus, Sion, Garen, and every other tank or juggernaut. You don't even need dashes to kite.

yet even tank yasuo was only 6th best mid and 7th best top. Why? because no matter what level of tank he is his damage won't pass a point. The only reason he did as much damage as he did with tank was because they wouldn't address the fervor being broken at that point in the game,

Darius is tanky and hurts but he's slow and can't catch people outside of a short range long cooldown hook. If you can kite Darius than you can kill him. It's the same with Nasus, Sion, Garen, and every other tank or juggernaut. You don't even need dashes to kite.

Ralanr4 votes

Yes everyone can be kited, but everyone can also be stunned as well. Juggernauts are just more susceptible to kiting just like Yasuo is more susceptible to dying from being stun because he's squishy enough to die in that timeframe (it's how you freaking punish him). Tank Yasuo made him durable enough to survive the situations that should have killed him when he got caught out. All without sacrificing enough noticeable damage.

We both agree that tank Yasuo was rightfully nerfed, but I don't think you understand that different champions have different intended weaknesses and strengths based on the nature of their kits.

As far as tank Yasuo goes, he got his nerfs. Well clearly I don't understand when Yasuo is building his prescribed build, playing his role as he is meant to, and isn't a top choice for mid or top, has a 48% win rate, but they are asking for nerfs again because people aren't skilled enough to out play or counter him. What I am pointing out is that you can have someone like vi or xin, who do serious damage, build tanky, and still snowball really hard. But they haven't even been adressed. Both have huge gap closers, and have kncok ups and such kits. But meddler constantly goes after Yasuo. And that is only because everyone hates on yasuo on here.

Ralanr1 votes

Meddler doesn't constantly go after Yasuo and I have no idea why he's looking to nerf him. You're taking this too personally.

Edit: you also need to remember that Vi and Xin are not the same kind of champions as Yasuo. They are encouraged to build a more hybrid mix of defense and offense and have different weaknesses.

And yasuo is meant to kill people with 100% damage. And it is very personal. I have invested seasons of this game into yasuo and into learning him well. Any changes to him are directly at me and Directly affect me. As for meddler he has only ever nerfed yasuo. Lowest winrate of all champions season 4. Nerfs to his core build season 5. nerfs to his damage and ult season 6. Yet he was never buffed. He keeps going after yasuo because they change items and it affects him.

TyrekGoldenspear7 votes

I mean, he does have very clear weaknesses. Like getting touched by Leona in any shape or form usually means he's dead.

However he doesn't have enough weaknesses it seems, and when a slayer (a skirmisher is more specific) doesn't have enough weaknesses that is a problem.

Ralanr7 votes

When he builds as intended he has the right weaknesses (being squishy, having to play aggressive, etc) but the tank builds removed the squishy weakness making it harder than it should be to punish him.

It was almost as bad as that time he had infinite sustain with old Warlords.

Sounds terrifying.

One thing that seems to be a recurring theme on these "NERF X CHAMPION" seems to start with them assuming that any champ can be beaten by any champ.

It isn't the case, but people don't like being forced to play a champ just to hard counter a champ they dislike.

Agreed, but even hard counters have some room to breath around. Even Poppy's W has a longer CD than most mobility spells.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Yasuo is nothing but a damage bot. People think he takes so much skill to play: he doesn't. He takes skill to play if you want to 1v5 and pretend you're Faker, but other than that, you can use nothing but auto attacks and Q's and outdamage most champions in the game. He has one of the best level 1 trading potentials in the game, if not THE best since his Q essentially gives him a free 50% attack speed buff.

Yasuo has always been a mathematical nightmare for game design and it's nice to see Riot actually admit that he's just too good at the moment. I've played like 3 games with Yasuo and all of them were hard carries. I'm really fucking bad with this champion and I still managed to 1v2 by just using my Q and auto attacks. What gets the majority of Yasuo players in trouble is when they start playing like monkeys. They dive into 1v4's, thinking they can "outplay" and they just die and feed, then they try it again. They see the knockup on their Q and have this "my body is telling me yes" moment and ultis in, instantly getting deleted by the rest of the team.

Yasuo is just such a strong champion that it's hard for a lot of people not to want to play him full ape shit. It's the "I can one shot two people at once, why not four?" mentality.

And win rate doesn't matter at all. Azir had a 44% win rate the last time they nerfed him.

Of course it matters. They nerfed azir becuase his counters couldn't counter him. Not the case with yasuo.

Nothing you say makes any god damn sense. Seriously, I have no idea what your point was.

Yasuo is a late game hypercarry with one of the best early games of any melee laner. He can out trade anyone early with an auto-Q combo and then one shot people late.

Yasuo getting fed isn't a "what if" it's a "when" in the same scope as Vayne. Even if the Yasuo goes 0-48, he will eventually have enough items to right click on anyone and instantly kill them, that's just how Yasuo is.

And idk what you were even trying to say in the second note you made. I assume is was something along the lines of, "Riot makes champions unbalanced so they get played more"? Idk, but that's not really true at all. Maybe for brand new champions, but not champs people have been playing since 2014.

And I beg you to name just ONE hard counter to Yasuo where he legitimately has trouble doing well against. One hard counter that can invalidate him. It can't happen because the mechanics of his kit and his damage output cannot be counter with the current champions in League. Period.

Yasuo is a killing champion. He is meant for kills. That is why both vayne and Yasuo are in the damn slayer class. He can't insta kill anyone. If you are a squishy trying to fight yasuo of course you will die. That is his role to slay you. counter pick or git good.

And idk what you were even trying to say in the second note you made. I assume is was something along the lines of, "Riot makes champions unbalanced so they get played more"? Idk, but that's not really true at all. Maybe for brand new champions, but not champs people have been playing since 2014.

did you not see the champion re-balance for worlds? Aside from that anyone they are selling a new skin for usually gets buffed a few patches ahead.

And I beg you to name just ONE hard counter to Yasuo where he legitimately has trouble doing well against. One hard counter that can invalidate him. It can't happen because the mechanics of his kit and his damage output cannot be counter with the current champions in League. Period.

Vi. Poppy. Renekton. Rammus. Trydamere. Anyone with hard cc. All jungle ganks. Tanks/juggernauts. Etc. etc.

This is why I never take low Elo players seriously. How stupid you must be to ACTUALLY think riven is easy to play. If she was so easy your ass would be anywhere near plat but I highly doubt that's possible.

Yasuo is a fun as fuck champion. He is incredibly hard to play and hard to pull off the shit necessary to win lane in top now. Yasuo can get outplayed and cced so Fucking easily . I don't even want to play him in d2 anymore because a fucking monkey could pick Elise or nunu and dive me for free every 2 minutes. Yasuo is so squishy when he goes full damage and still dies when he's full tank. A full tank malphite does nearly the same damage if not more while being unkillable. Qq where? Oh wait u would rather get killed by a point and click full tank champ than a good player on yasuo.

Keep in mind I took the time to type this out after that cancer you typed above.

Every single Yasuo player thinks he is fun and hard to play.

The reality is that he is cancer to play against and easy to rape with.

Just because you want to build up your ego by convincing yourself that he is difficult to play doesn't make it true.

That is becaue we know how easily he is shut down and taken out. Idare you play him in ranked all season and see how far you get.

No. He isn't even close. You being bad at the game isn't an excuse to blame him.

Just because you want to build up your ego by convincing yourself that he is difficult to play doesn't make it true.

Right and you getting scrapped by him and not investing time to learn to counter or outplay him, but rather coming here and crying about him isn't about your ego.

You're the one crying, actually. Your entire thread is one big Yasuo-main-circlejerk cryfest.

Play champs that actually take skill, or bounce from broken champ to broken champ as they come and go, but don't cry when one obnoxiously broken champ gets the nerf he needs.

They have never even tried the champions, so have no clue how to counter or the habits of the champion to outplay them. So they come on here to cry about a champion who doesn't need nerfs, while many others do.

FInally someone understands. Malphite is super tanky while remaining very viable in terms of damage and can easily kill you safely. I don;t care about these people complaining, but clearly riot is considering it just on the whineyness of the players and I don't think it is fair for people who play yasuo or these champions to have to take a hit because other people don't invest their time to learn a champion who isn't point and click from a distance.
