If something is picked in competitive it doesn't necessarily mean it's OP, we saw pros pick Lee sin when he was clearly underperforming because he's a comfort pick and for god's sake we saw a Poppy being played while the general opinion is that Poppy is ridiculously weak until late game and UP because of it.

J Eevo1 votesThe Morello remark was if I remember correctly stating that Poppy's early game is being kept shit on purpose because she's just too good when it comes to lategame and needs a rework - He was saying that the champion is BAD because of it, and if it ever became GOOD it would get nerfed.
The remark about Lee sin was about how he's picked EVEN when he's in a bad state (he got buffed, but when devourer and juggernaut meta were ripe Lee sin was actually considered a BAD pick and he still got picked because every team trains him and they can always fall back on Lee as a comfort pick)
And veigar won his game because the other team did not know how to react to his kit, and veigar's team was specifically BUILT around the pick, and the veigar player was working well with the team when it came to teamfights. You won't see that sort of thing in soloq, it's even rare in constructed 5v5, and you know the teams do not consider veigar a threat without the whole team comp because they don't ban him.
You can't just base your whole argument of "veigar op pls nerf" around one game, the sample size is too small for that.

His hardest counters though are the ad assassins, like Zed and Talon. They can dodge his stun all together with one ability that puts them right on top of him and then he has nothing to fall back on to defend himself.
