Can we get this change for Blitz?

Make his Q leash himself to the target, similar to Thresh, except instead of stunning them, they're just slowed for a little while instead. 2nd activation of Q while leashed, will knock the target up.

Risking melee range will allow him to be rewarded with a 2nd knockup with E. Or instead, trade CC for damage by letting him use E to end the knockup early (a slam-down effect) that deals extra damage. This would only be able to be used on Q's knockup, since E's cooldown isn't low enough (except in URF, though that would be altered) to knock up the target and slam them back down with E alone.

Not risking melee range will still have the enemy in a somewhat dangerous position that allows for his team to capitalize on a little more actively than just piling on top of Blitz and winning a 4v5 teamfight moments later.

Part of what makes Blitz such an annoying character to play allied and opponent is because he has such a massive lack of choice and intuitive gameplay, with a pull that destroys games past 30 minutes.

A bad Blitz is bad no matter what. A good blitz is only as good as how bad his targets are at dodging.

Change is needed.

I don't really think this would be a good change for robot man. His Q leashing himself to the target is pretty much him soaring straight to them and that can be extremely dangerous to do even for a tanky guy like Blitzy. It gives him a second ''move to'' gap closer (When you move yourself to the enemy like lamppost man's QJax instead of pulling them towards you like lantern guy's QThresh ) with his E, and two knock ups, one from his Q and the other from his E. His Q's primary use is to pick someone out of position as it can easily lead to someones death when tagged along with his E and someone to follow up.

  • Yes, risking melee range like you stated can trade him a high risk for a high reward, but a risk like the one described is tons more dangerous than his current state since if he gets blocked by a minion with is grab, he will rocket towards the person on the opposing team, wasting his Q, and he will be extremely vulnerable as that mistake is easy to capitalize on. If he DOES manage to land his Q, he will just be CCing someone to death with a slow and 2 knock ups in a short time frame which may eventually call for nerfs and since he is pulling himself to them, SOMEONE is going to have to follow up as if he is played as support (which he primarily is played as) and they may not make it in time, as he will most likely be focused down since he can only focus on one person. It allows Blitz to have much more counterplay against him that heavily outweighs the bonus he gets if he lands his Q and in team fights or team fights ramping up, he should be trying to pick someone out of line before an engage and runners straight after. The change you described isn't a terrible idea, but it has too many downsides compared to bonuses. It's not a terrible idea, but I wouldn't recommend it.

No; you misunderstood; being leashed to them doesn't mean he's flying to them. It means he's leashed to them. Karma. Thresh. Leblanc. Reactivation would knock them up. Blitz himself isn't going anywhere he isn't clicking to.

Ahaa! I see what you mean. I had a feeling I misunderstood what you meant by leash

Thematically and logically it doesn't make sense for his fist to act as leash with an optional knock-up. Functionally making it a leash still doesn't solve the problem of the enemy not having a choice.

I think the nerf in PBE solves the problem well. A lot of his oppressiveness comes from the fact that he was soo much faster than pretty much any other character and could bait them into wasting their mobility before using his pull.

QSS, Cleanse, and any form of standard mobility might get you out of harm's way, unless you're caught out by Blitz. Which is what he excels at punishing. Saying you have no options when an enemy is leashed to you (aside from Thresh since his leash has hard CC) displays a lack of knowledge about the game.
