I've sorted of perma-muted chat in all of my games.

With all of the new pings I feel I can get 100% of the communication I need with 0% of the flame. And ive found my team is more responsive to the smart pings anyway. Is there any reason I should really stop? Cuz it feels like I should, but I can't find an honest reason to. My games are much more peaceful and I enjoy them much more, but if I'm doing something detrimental to my team I'd like to know now so I can stop before it becomes a legitimate habit that I can't break.

not really, I've seen a lot of high ELO players that actually recommend muting chat always

Though I would probably just put it in chat at the very start like hey, muting chat. use pings
