Autofilled roles should be matched for both sides.

If 1 team has an autofilled jungler, so should the other and so on. This wont fix match making but it would make autofill a bit more fair

Would be interesting to know the affects of doing this on queue times; as in how much longer it would make them.

If the cost wasn't too high it would be a nice middle ground.

You say that with this being the most played game of any sort in the world.

It's not that much more restrictive of an algorithm, especially when you take into account the role demand distribution-- in relative terms in especially-- for each group it's trying to match.

Yea , diamond 1+ palyers don't mind 5 hours queues I'd guess.

This idea is a decent middle ground because a mid. main is going to simply wreck a jg. main autofilled to mid. - or even a secondary mid. placed in mid. I admit that I main jg. and choose mid as secondary simply because that way I have a very good chance of getting jungle :). In fact, I am autofilled more than I get mid. But when I do get mid., I get wrecked pretty bad.

The best solution is to remove autofill entirely or better yet remove the support role which is the only legitimate reason for autofill.

Matchmaking is totally flawed, probably to keep an overal 50% win ratio. It should be just removed and coded ex novo, by competent an honest people.

you might be able to make each team have the same number of players autofilled on each team, but this would negetively impact que times (the exact reason autofill exists)

How about we start with asking them to make who is autofilled clear to us without us having to do detective work.

Why not just allow us to select a role we won't get filled into. This will affect queue times in higher elo to a degree but overall this will be a healthier style. Also I shouldn't be getting autofilled if I have been in queue for like 10 seconds.

They tried that on OCE and it did not work at all. Everyone just selected "anything but support" and "anything but jungle" and the queue times went up a ton. The reason Autofill even exists is because not enough people play support. The only thing they could add would be an "anything but top, mid or adc" option, but you very very rarely get autofilled to those roles anyway.
