7-3 in Placements, landed exactly back where I was.

So I was gold 5 at the end of the season. I realistically only wanted Gold so that I could get the victorious skin, so over the 7 months I played a match a month to prevent decay (Before the re-work that no longer needed Gold players to prevent decay). I heard horror stories about almost every person under the sun being placed into lower divisions even though they went positive in their placements. I only played two pre-season matches and won both. Why didn't I get placed lower like the majority of people?

I honestly didn't even end the season with a positive record because I tried to prevent decay and was playing so irregularly. Was it the previous seasons (Gold season 3, 4) that put me back at G5? This has sorta been bugging me considering everyone else I know lowered.

Everyone else was lower because they all tanked their MMRs during preseason or lost their first games. A lot if people who were X5 for a while and considered themselves to be in that division even if they were stuck in the bottom for dozens of games.
