"Where are all the Bruisers?" An answer to a fellow boards member

Darius and Illaoi are viable.

The problem with other Juggernauts/Fighters Nasus Garen Udyr Olaf Mordekaiser DrMundo Is that are too many are still linear as hell. Meaning enemies cannot outplay them and they cannot outplay enemies. This means their entire power budget has to be loaded so if condition x is met they win. Otherwise they lose. Very few people want to play champions like that. So even if they received some slight buffs they would still be less common unless Riot busted them to freelo. It isn't worth investing yourself into 2 million mastery points on Garen because you won't gain much by doing so. Other than experience and practice at League in general.

Back to Darius. Darius in the rework was given tools to outplay his opponents. But they can also dodge his Q and Pull. Plus they can see his stacks and play around their mechanic. Thus Darius has a more healthy power budget. Darius is worth investing 2 million mastery points into. Because you have room for growth. But also his healthy power budget makes him viable in all/most tiers of play.

Darius and Illaoi are far healthier. Even if frustrating to face they have mechanics you can play around.

Shyvana mini rework helped her health but she still needs work Skarner is thankfully being reworked again to fix him

I honestly cannot figure out why some people defend linear designs but then complain about Ryze root being point-and-click and not having options to outplay less linear enemies. Just let your champion be reworked***** like Darius and have something fun, viable and usable in all tiers. Who has options and non-linear counterplay.

*special exemption for Morde, Malz and Skarner mains. You can be scared of reworks.

Did you really need to make a separate thread or were you just bored?

Skarner is thankfully being reworked again to fix him

Riot has managed to not figure out how to make a good skarner in three attempts, I have a feeling the next one still won't be good.

illaoi is a gimmick

riot doesn't know what the fuck to do with bruisers. the only way they work right now is either if they can abuse trinity and full tank or of they go full lethality and become suicide bombs. there is no in between and it's aggravating as fuck

doesn't help that riot gives zero fuck about range v melee so you better pick a mobile one that can engage twice, otherwise you get peeled off once and you die before you can run away thanks to amazing designs like Janna. not to mention their cancerous mage design where they'll shit on you in lane and then outperform you in teamfights

Mordekaiser is actually as healthy as darius in teamfight you can outplay his W and his Q is basically countered the same way you counter darius's ulti, it takes a lot of time to go off The things that makes him still hard to balance is his laning phase, putting him botlane was a good idea but putting him botlane and balance his botlane power around xp passive was one of the worst idea ever

TLDR: i think everyone understood the point of this thread

except apparently riot? since nothing is being done since years

Did you just call Darius healthy? Illaoi I can understand but Darius? Really lol?

Land a pull - Yes - Kill whoever you caught Land a pull - No - It's ok no other melee in the game can fight you so just wait to try again.

Building pure tank and over half a tanks hp (who has at least 3 armor items) with a single skill most certainly is not healthy. Especially when said person has a heal on a low CD with very little room for error in using it

"Where are all the Bruisers?"

They all went to Olaf's place for drinks and some casual wrestling. They ended up in the hospital due to massive bruising.
