jungle is badly designed right now

ill just leave my conclusions here

the jungle was changed in the past to be a harder enviroment which had to prevent laners from cheesing it for gold and exp and unfair lane advantages due to the side of the map they occupy

but this has brought some problems to light

as jungle became less friendly towards the laners it actualy started pushing junglers themselves out ... since they lacked the power to clear it while still having resources for any eventual fights

the answer riot came with were the jungle items those packed stats and passives to aid the jungle clear and outfit junglers for the game

but this basicaly introduced the era of jungle fighters since they actualy worked witht the jungle items that were specialized so a tank who lakced damage couldnt clear after he had the sotag since he still lacked damage while fighters had versatile kits allowing them to make up for what they didnt itemise

this brought up another problem as jungle items were updated made to make more junglers viable ... but junglers needed too much to live in the jungle

the items that make junglers wiable ... are actualy so loaded that laners who buy them can get more benefit of those than of normal items

most of the time it is the red smite comboed with cinderhulk

but the fact as they stand are that jungle cant push laners out by being strong ... if jungle is strong junglers need to be stronger ... by simple chain of action and reaction we get to the point where jungle items are going into lanes and i dont see this avoidable

what i personaly find to be a good way of keeping laners out of jungle is by making it less rewarding to do so i feel like jungle was made stronger to make keep it as a profit for laners with a certain drawback to it

but if you would make it easier and less rewarding for laners it would still serwe that purpose

the way i see it jungle should be indeed weaker and give less gold and exp to the laner ... but a champion with machete should get bonus gold and exp from clearing it ... so laners are discouraged from clearing jungle but they can still do it for a bonus

this way you can ballance jungle items around weaker stuff that they can attain earlier in the game (mage junglers can be viable with that ... a big chunk of ap and required mana regen passives is too costfull to provide it early) ... and that wont be the core of their viability

basicaly speaking items cant be what is making junglers viable as champions jungle items should set give make your junglel clear more rewarding and safer than for a laner

You do know that the current jungle items actually do this. item 1039 gives 15 extra gold on large monster kills, does bonus damage to the jungle camp, and passively gives the jungler back health and mana while fighting it. The reason jungle items are being used outside jungle is because they do things other items do not. item 3717 gives you +25% bonus health, something no other item provides. item 3716 gives mages the ability to clear the minion wave faster with a way of recovering mana built into the wave clear, again, something no other items can provide. This is also the reason why no one does this with item 3714, it's nothing more than a ball of stats that, while is very effective at making an AD jungler's clear much faster, doesn't provide anything unique that couldn't be purchased through other, similar items.

The warrior enchant's "ball of stats" is like a wet dream for pretty much every AD champ in the game. If it weren't for the fact that the top lane is dominated by tanky champs right now that generally build tons of health I feel like you might see it up there. Well, that and you can just sit on brutalizer the entire game with no real downside.

I would probably do unspeakable things to the RIOT dev team if Brutalizer built into basically any other item in the game than it does now.

I didn't think about that, item 3714 would be an effective buy since people can use it as a replacement to what item 3071 was for AD casters while getting a decent slow or damage reduction. Good point.

not exactly

this item gives you stuff to justify the fact it costs gold ... this item is just a pathway to better items for basicaly any other jungler ... they need big and strong items to survive the jungle itself later on

right now machete is just minor compensation for sitting on an item without any stats on it

thats why i would like to lower the power and base rewards of the jungle ... and focus more of the jungler power into machete itself so every body can clear the jungle but only those with a machete get the actual benefit from doing so then the machete upgrades could become more minor instead of realy powerfull items that prove to work on lanes

simply said jungle being powerffull means that junglers need to be even more powerfull ... that can be attained only by items which will prove to work even on lanes due to both their good stats and realy good cost effectiveness

a guy below even said that warrior enchant could prove to be a realy good thing on lane im not sure but yes warrior gives good stats for its cost ... so it can work

I have a simple solution: Delete all jungler items, and instead make Smite more powerful. Make Smite give jungle bonuses, such as reduced damage from neutral monsters, increased damage, and gold income from them. Yes, that would mean no more challenging smite, or chilling smite, but junglers could build normal items. Gold income to junglers would need to be buffed tho, making gold in jungle equal to gold in lanes. Many many more champions could be played in jungle then, as now it's favored by tanks, because their items are cheaper.

Well it seems like they fixed everything now.
