Is Rod of Ages worth it? In competitive I usually never see Galio or Cho build it. And then I see some Cassadins building it. So when do you get this item?

How do you determine what to pick in hero select? I usually have a lot of trouble deciding what the best pick should be even when I'm last pick. Should I pick to win lane or have better team fighting? I've been playing Cass a lot recently but I never feel comfortable picking her since I heard she becomes useless if they build Adaptive Helm. How do I decide between Orianna and Taliyah since they both seem to be good in team fights?

Cho and galio dont build it in competitive because they don't need to do damage just tank because the carries will have an easier time with a tank in the frontline in soloq you cant really rely on our carries to do the job so most chogaths and galios build a little bit of damage and kassadin builds it because his early game isnt good no matter what he builds and RoA is really good at scaling About choosing your champion there isn't really a strict set of rules but what you should do is look at all the champions and picture how the game is gonna go before it starts like:

  1. who has better late game 2.who has pressure 3.who your jungler is 4.can you roam a lot
  2. also taliyah is a better roamer and better at objective control and sieging(every ult should be a dragon or a tower if you use it correctly)than orriana and ori is better at straight up teamfights 6.Cass doens't become straight useless you still do a lot of damage and not all champs can fit adaptive helm into their build 7.Depends on the team comps of both teams if you play for lane or teamfights if you think u can end early pick an lane champ but then you have the pressure if you don't end early you are at an disadvantage and if you play for teamfights and late game try to not fall too far behind otherwise you should be fine All 3 midlaners you listed are pretty good at all phases of the game
