Will we ever go into a mage meta?

We've been in so many mage metas its impossible to keep track.

Remember the era where the only midlaners played were stall mages like Ziggs and Xerath? Remember the time when double AP comps were the best? Remember the second time?

azir cassia viktor kogmaw are mages that are super top tier meta. it was not long ago when xerath, syndra, ziggs and oriana was dominating mid. mages are good and have been good. i don't get

Maybe. We may see a lot of or after these changes since they benefit from them enough to be strong, but not enough to get nerfed in my EYE!

I think we're going to see DoT mages soonish when the new AP item ratios come out, be ready for a Vlad to be in every game! Riot's buffing all of the items Vlad uses.

Sounds crazy, but in teambuilder recently, I've seen a good amount of people going burst mages/assassins botlane. They've been pretty effective.

We just kind of exited one not that long ago.

When Ryze was a really common top assassin mids were on a heavy decline and supports got hit so hard mages were really popular there. Ryze wasn't the only top-lane mage either: a wide number of mages started showing up their fairly heavily.

It wasn't exactly uncommon to have teams with a Ryze top, Ori mid, and Annie support. That was a pretty heavy mage meta IMO, where you could have the majority of your team as mages.

im still waiting for them to nerf adc and restrict them to ok-ish damage vs. champions, and great damage against turrets.

the role of main damage sources against champions should be taken on by mages imo.

Its kind of always the mage meta. They will always be in use. The specific mages might change, but you are always going to see them

mages are in almost every meta... even assassin meta had a lot of orianna and syndra and ahri played.

I think the Mage meta was back when Athene's was the end all too mana problems. Insistently, that was when Oriana was getting QQed about. Not too long ago, Lissandra and Kennen were popular choices for team engage. at least until Cinderhulk got released.

I'd Question whether those items really are going to affect the mage meta. It will certainly make mages more versitile since these items are being more Balanced AP wise. But will that make them More powerful. Even if your Vlad, He certainly will have more build options. But he can't take them all at once. And will those items Really change how powerful he is over all. Or will people continue the Full AP build of Zonya's Rabadons, Ludens, etc.

I don't remember a mage meta in general, but I do remember a Ziggs meta. I think it was late S3?

But it didn't generalize to other mages.
