The GG is dying, slowly but dying.

It seems that we've come to a point in league's life where the GG is starting to slowly fade out of reach and being replaced with the one sided stompy BG's we're getting. That's not to say that comebacks don't happen, they're just far and few between.

And honestly? I don't see it getting any better anytime soon. So, I'm buckled in, are you?

Games used to be a constant struggle, even if you had a lead, you had to be careful not to throw.

Nowadays, the team that gets an early lead can just go into cruise control and win the game, it's so easy to snowball. The defending team has to make an herculean effort to win the game back, that or the team with a lead did a massive throw.

There's a reason why in old LoL you couldn't get too confident after getting a lead, you could easily lose it.

Close games are much more memorable now because they are so rare. I can tell you that I've had a handful of close games since 7.22, but the overwhelming majority are stomps one way or the other. Almost every game is now determined by 10 minutes and practically none of them go beyond 30 minutes (as I've mentioned in other threads).

There have always been stomps in League, but they were the minority of games for a long time. Comebacks/throws were at least possible, but they are so rare now that it's almost post-worthy on the Boards to say "I actually played a game where we came back to win".

The reason I stopped saying GG is because it almost seems to be sarcastic now. Like most people who say it these days also throw in an "ez" or something rude like that. It is super rare to see someone say something like "gg! was fun!" these days.

It's not just being stomped, it goes both ways. I don't enjoy absolutely dicking on someone just because they made one mistake in lane. I don't enjoy listening to someone take tower at 7 minutes into game because jungle decided to pay bot a visit. This is happening far more often than people seem to realize.

I agree with this. Stomping from time to time can be an exhilarating experience, but only insofar as you truly feel like you outplayed your opponent so hard that you get to run circles around them. When it happens on a frequent basis, it doesn't feel warranted, and ends up feeling boring even to those on the winning side. Personally, I'd be totally fine with shorter League matches, so long as they were fair and gave leads in proportion to differences in skill. Right now, however, it feels like Riot's attempts to shorten game durations have always come at a major tradeoff in stability, balance and fairness, which to me suggests that more systemic work needs to be done to tone down the current amount of snowballing.

Honestly I feel bad when one game feels so one sided to the point where one team will begin to TOY with the other just to drag their already won game out. It's like human nature to be sadistic just a bit especially coming out of a losing streak. When I joined league, the game was 20-25 minutes of trying to decide who would win now it just feels rushed and decided and it's honestly so disappointing.

I don't think he's just unlucky. He's experiencing what most of us are. BG!

Honestly people love to rag on comebacks never happening, and that the game is super onesided, and throws are rarer now.

But i dont see it. I looked like a week ago and like 4 out of 10 games were insane comebacks of 6kg or more where we won. And these are high silver - low plat games.

I think what IS dying is peoples beliefs in comebacks.

Is the game no longer good?

I noticed that new tactic appeared in the game. After taking buffs and some basic levels by jungler he is going bot and don't leave it until at least enemy turret is down. I don't mean gank, I mean three people on the bot and it seems it's worthy. Huge domination of bot is often a game won. After some quick time they are constantly diving under turret 3 vs 2 and eventually succesfully kill on the low levels.
