Gangplank with Runeglaive is CHEATING. 1k magic damage crits when used with Infinity Edge...

Just lost to a Gangplank who went Runeglaive with Infinity Edge, and he was dealing about 1k magic damage crit pistols. And I thought Runeglaive Ezreal was bad. This one is just broken.

I'm just going to report anybody who uses this combination as a cheater. Crits are not supposed to deal magic damage, end of story.

Dumbass.

That's immoral to report someone just because they build something that works. They are nerfing runeglaive soon, just calm down.

You're right that it's imbalanced to convert the attack to magic damage. I've been saying the same thing.

However, it's completely wrong to report other players for doing it. This is Riot making a mistake--one that has a fix on the PBE, coming in the very next patch--not a player cheating.

"Soon®" You mean..

That would be a 400-500 dmg crit + ludens - 100 dmg + rune glaive proc - worse then ezreal.

Add on that Gangplank's pistol is direct-target, whereas Ezreal's Q is a skillshot.

You can't proc Luden's on GP's Q, even with Runeglaive. (You can proc Statikk Shiv, though.)

A Q crit with Lichbane would do even more damage to a single target (although it wouldn't all be magic). Nobody ever seemed to whine about this.

Ezreal has 3 high damaging spells all magic (now) and a blink, gangplank has a slight ms increase high dmg on q low damage on ult (unless around 50+ kills) and a bad early ESPECIALLY when going ap.

My point is that many other items would give him more raw damage on his Q (against a single target, of course). If he's building AP, Lichbane gives significantly more single-target (though mixed) damage. If you're building Runeglaive and then AD/crit, you're throwing away a whole item slot worth of damage just to convert his Q to magic damage. You'd almost certainly be better off buying more AD and/or crit and/or ArPen -- again, at least against a single target, probably in a teamfight the AOE would be worth it.

On PBE right now they're apparently testing having Runeglaive only proc the AOE against monsters, which would make it much less attractive to rush in lane.

oh sorry i thought you were the OP xD

That's the point: the physical crit of the pistol is converted into magic. In Lich Bane's case, the crit is still physical.

If he's building AP, Lich Bane would deal even more raw damage against a single target. It's just that it would be mixed rather than all magical.

If he's not building AP, other items would give him more physical damage against a single target.

The AOE is a little ridiculous in teamfights, but if you're talking about laning then Runeglaive Critplank does less single-target damage than other Critplank builds. So the "OMG THIS IS CHEATING!" attitude seems kind of silly.

If it cheat why don't you use it and win game yourself

Because I have standards.

That's actually the worst logic you could ever possibly use.

I guess the game went really into late game and you did nothing to shut him down? Cause even on the LCS they tried this and even at 30mins~ in GP wasn't a threat yet/and was mildly handled and couldn't do a thing and they lost.

Singed can't really "shut down" a GP. You try splitpushing against a GP who has a decent amount of AP, and he'll keep raining cannonballs down on your minion waves.

And this is the other reason (besides AP Runeglaive Ezreal) why Runeglaive gets changed next patch, to not change the whole attack into magic damage, but to only do bonus magic damage.
