Serious question, why is Ekko allowed to have the amount of damage and utility he has?

He just seems over the top in just about every way. A passive with a 70% ap ratio and massive slow. A q for reliable wave clear, and again a slow. A w that gives a percent health, slow, shield, and a stun. An E that gives an escape/gap closer, and if that wasn't enough, an ulti that has an escape, with the added benefit of a massive nuke and heal. Are there ways to stop him? Of course. But the issue is the same with Fizz, LB, and Zed. He's just "unfun" to play against.

Too often it seems like these assassin type champions are given too strong a gameplay style. And while the safety might be annoying, the amount of cc and wave clear that someone with that much safety is even more annoying. I mean I have faith that Riot will eventually get him to a point where he's not as frustrating to play against, but it does feel like, at least to me, that there needs to be a change in how they make some of these high burst assassins to actually accentuate some real cons to their kit.

OMFG. There are a million of these threads already. Shut up.

No offense, but you didn't have to click on the post, let alone post a useless comment that doesn't bring anything to the table. I don't frequent the boards that often, so forgive me for not seeing the "other million threads."

Even if the first guy is somewhat right, I'm gonna have to side with you here. Nobody forced him to come here.

Ekko is easy to take down if someone has a well placed stun and just simple as every champ you dont let them get big and outrageous. What does not help is those kids that just buy a champ and do nothing but expose the champ for there "OP"ness when in reality all new champs will be OP and over the top until about a week or 2 and they get a nerf and the process will start all over again.

ANY champion can be taken down with a well placed stun, so if that is their weakness, they really don't have one. Not every champion has a stun, therefore they don't have any counterplay against champions who require stuns to beat (Katarina MasterYi ect)

Yea well it doesn't really work if you stun him at full health and go all in to kill him because once the stun is over and he's still not dead he has a free pass to get out of it and bam you've wasted all your spells and are probably dead. A well placed stun has to be when he's low health or otherwise the player is just stupid letting them all in him without ulting out of it for safety. He's just an annoying OP champ that needs to be deleted.

Because he is a new champ and rito wants to make money.

The thing that's scary though is that the nerfs on PBE are love taps. They will barely affect his gameplay.

Don't worry, he will get nerfed once the buying of him settles down.

He has got some nerfs on the PBE currently to lower his q ratio and give his ult a mana cost. I think both of those nerfs will put him in a pretty good place. I also suggest just learning how to play against him because a lot of his kit is avoidable.

If you look I said I understand that there are ways to stop him, but that he's just frustrating to play against. With the amount that he has in his kit, percent health, multiple escapes, cc on cc, a shield, and then if that's not enough an ult that heals and nukes given the right circumstances. Something needs to either be toned down or removed as he simply has too much in his kit as he currently stands.

Leona has CC on CC and a slow/ stun for ult and a root for the e

If you look i said that he has nerfs on the PBE which will help. I know he is frustrating to play against and tbh i dont think that aspect of him will ever change. There are plenty of champs that are frustrating to play against but are balanced, Ekko might not be quite balanced yet but he isnt as bad people seem to think.

Ekko is fine. Lrn2play

his damage is actually pretty low without his ult, which is easy to avoid

I'll be honest here, I don't have a problem with Ekko.

But not everybody is me, and I am not everybody.

This does not make me better or worse than anybody else.

I picked up Ekko, played him my way (bruiser, not assassin, I hate deleting people if I get fed), learned his weaknesses, never had an issue playing against him. Baited out his ult before fully engaging, warning my teammates what he was going to do (it's a mindgame), and never fed him personally.

But a frustrating champion is a frustrating champion. Just look at Ryze last patch. Even if he dealt nearly 0 damage (hyperbole, like an "if" situation. He does deal damage), that permasnare was hideous. Sure, Ekko is telegraphed, but unless you pick up the champion itself (learning a champion is easier than learning to play against a champion, in my opinion, so don't think I'm blaming anyone) it's frustrating for a player who has played against him five times and only learned a few of his obvious weaknesses to play against an Ekko player who has played him fifteen times and knows several of his innate weaknesses that he can work around.

Ekko himself is fine. But he was too powerful on release. If he had this level of power say... six months afterwards, it'd be a lot more acceptable (just look at Katarina tho, we're all used to her, think she's BS, but still know her weaknesses just fine). People prefer underpowered champions on release who get buffed later for a reason.
