I am constantly being reported for meta-breaking
Stop reporting people for trying new things. Does Riot take into consideration that people report others... just because they can?

soooo did you think to try it in custom or bots first? or did you dive right into normal blind pick, go 0-10, behind 100 cs? down turrets? and undoubtedly undermine your team...
im very interested in how you performed.

Why would his performance matter as far as reports go? I thought Riot's official stances were that 1. you can't be punished for playing out of the meta, and 2. being bad isn't punishable, either.

And how are you to know if it works agaisnt PLAYERS? Customs are FULL of trolls playing we they want. he was apparently trying new things in a regular match setting.
But as a fellow meta-hater... or breaker in your case OP, i am curious. what were you trying?
Support or adc Sion and top lane bard or adc bard. Both of which i tend to perform incredibly well. A lot of people apologize when i carry the team but i still get reported atleast once per game if we lost. But honestly, there are games that i don't do as well as i'd like but really, who goes 100-0 every game? Doesn't happen, even with non-metabreakers.
i would report you if you are doing really relaly reallllly bad... do off meta in practice or normal game first....
Reports, regardless of quantity, that are baseless have NO penalty. Trolling, regardless of claim of "Meta breaking" is still trolling and will be penalized. is that clear?
So youre saying that meta-breaking is the same as troll-picking?
Honestly I'm more prone to hate on Meta-breaking if I find it absolutely stupid.
AP? Eh, Chompers and Zap! scale off of AP, it's not efficient but there's worse...
AP? What the Hell are you doing in my game?
If it can scale/work reasonably there shouldn't be a punishment involved. Just try not to pick on stuff that relies on snowballing though, because
Top doesn't really work out well if your opponent picked a tank.
If you're trying to go AP Riven Zed, I'll probably dislike it since there's no reason to do it.
But a lot of the fun off-meta things I play in normals like AD Lulu actually has a reasoning to it and can be pretty useful. 105 free Attack Damage from her passive? Yes the machine gun Lulu dream.
I agree with you, basically it doesn't have to be the best but as long as It's reasonable I'm fine with it.
Zap doesn't scale on AP.
My bad, I thought it did for some reason (I actually don't own Jinx so really, my bad!) But like Elias said, as long as the character scales decently and doesn't have a horrible build, it should be fine.
Define Meta Breaking. Playing Vi mid lane assassin style is meta breaking. Playing AP Caitlyn is trolling. Full AD Shyvana is meta breaking. Full Tank Twitch is trolling.
i keep being reported for trying various adc jg like doin cait jg jinx jg etc btw cait jg works
cant report for having a bad game lol
riot SUPPORTS players trying something new
yes they do stop being desperate for attention
I wouldn't worry, unless you're being toxic back or do something inappropriate. I always encourage Meta-breaking.
Off-meta picks are never a reason to report someone. Neither is having a bad game. But please be able to defend your picks if someone questions them. Bard can do this toplane or ADC and that makes him a good pick. Support Sion can do this and that's why I picked him (ADC Sion I question because of lack of sieging and range differences, but feel free to defend it). There are absolutely picks that are off-meta and awesome and work, but there are also people who take suboptimal build choices and call it meta breaking. If you run AP Riven, that's not off-meta. If you run Irelia "support" and proceed to farm as if you were top lane, never build a support item, and never grab sightstone, that's not off-meta, that's gimping your team by trying to stuff two carries into the same lane.
While I trust that you have reasons for running what you do and that you're doing incredibly well, some people don't do anything of the sort. Anyone reporting you is still an idiot, though.
There's a difference between going AD
top and carrying the team because you have practice and know how to play it, and going AP
jungle and not ganking a single time because you have to recall after literally every camp and you have just completed your runeglaive by the time enemy Shyvana gets sated and already has a bork in her inventory.
You really need to define what you consider meta breaking. I don't have a problem really with meta breaking if it makes at least some sense, but locking in AD Heimer jg and losing the game for us you should expect to get reported, especially in ranked.
CHAMPION DIVERSITY B!TCHES! FUK THE Meta! :)
