The autofill algorithm/method is terrible
I get that people need to autofill and play support. It's just the method it happens often makes no sense. There was a mid/top, and a support/fill in my lobby. I put top/mid. The its the mid/top players "turn" to autofill, so the system seems to decide they are getting support no matter what, even if there is a support player in your lobby.
So it does this:
mid/top = support top/mid = top support/fill = adc the rest is unknown to me what they chose but presumably not autofilled since they weren't complaining.
It could clearly put me top, the mid player mid, and the support player as support without needing to put anyone somewhere they didn't choose as their first role. Assuming it could find an adc, which doesn't seem ridiculous. If there is such a shortage of support players,** why are we wasting them by putting them on adc when they could prevent an autofill by playing support???**
They should change the support queue to being like choosing fill as a main role. You put support, you only get support. There should be no 2nd option. If support players are so rare that we need to force people to do it, why are people who choose support as their main role playing absolutely anything but support? Why are people who queue up as support being filled to adc in the same game that people who are autofilled to support??
The way I see it, every time someone who puts support as their main role gets filled to something else, someone needs to be autofilled and that's a bad thing.
It's like the game decides "ok its your turn to autofill this game no matter what" and it puts someone on support. Even if they lobby could arguably have its roles chosen in a better way, with more people on their main (or secondary) roles
