Is there a reason i shouldnt be playing taliyah as a support?

Not that anyones challenged me. Been performing very well (lost last game due to afk) with her in general. Works very well against those damned mobile marksmen.

My issue with it is how restricted becomes. Bot lane's smaller than mid and doesn't quite allow a lot of room for you to Q. After about 4 uses, you've effectively turn your 12 rocks into 3 for a short period of time. As well as that, E-W combo is a difficult combo to land unless you can pretty much get them as they're autoing.

It would be like playing Syndra support. It works, but the input to output is not as valuable to someone like Leona or Zyra.

I do get what you mean. You really have to space the worked ground out.

I don't think it's the worst thing in the word having to use Q on her worked ground though. For one thing, spellthiefs will not price multiple times with a single Q cast. So you don't really lose anything there. Also, with no blue buff and no dorans ring, her mana is gonna be pretty heavily restricted.

Still, not as ideal as having all that room, but I don't think the downside is that heavy.

if your in normal then its fine you could play vlad support if you aren't trolling. but if your in ranked there are so many better options that help the team out more and even if its been working its not the best thing for your team

I get what you mean, but none of leonas cc is reliable (skillshots with narrow windows) besides her Q.Also the only shield she has is for herself.

Do you know that her E is also a hard cc? Her ult is only unreliable if you try to hit someone from afar. Hitting already CCed target is not an issue.

^^^Because she doesn't match half the previous criteria.

And no her e is not reliable because most people are smart enough to stay out of leona's range considering her root (which is not hard cc, try to proc CotC with leonas E and cry) is a narrow skillshot with medium range. And it is unreliable because most people will try to stay out the center of her ultimate which frankly is not difficult to accomplish. At which case it becomes a slow.

And btw being able to "tank" doesn't make a champ a good support.

It's range is 875, so all champions should stay out of her? That would mean no farming in early game for ADCs. And even if she hits you with E you can still get away. Proper positioning is extremely important against hard engage supps.

Her E is still reliable when you want to peel someone off your ADC.

And how do you know beforehand where is the center? You have 0.625 to get out of the center. Good luck with that. She can also chain CC combo E-Q-R and there is nothing you can do about it.

And I don't understand why are you talking about Leona out of entire champion roaster. Leona is still FAR BETTER support than Taliyah will ever be.

Taliyah has unreliable peel, has no shielding, unreliable CC, no tankyness, unreliable disengage. Her kit isn't designed with intention of supporting. She is also immobile which means she will get fucked from a engage support (like Leona) or poke supports.

Tanking damage that ADC would take otherwise and surviving engage? Yeah sure, doesn't make a good supp at all.

TL;DR, did notice one thing tho. WHy the hell would a mage "need" shielding? Ten words or less pls

Well, there are better choices than Taliyah support unless you really know what you are doing.

Unfortunately, her kit puts her in a rather unsafe position, where she can get caught by hard CC from the enemy support. Poking with Q is not the greatest either due to how thin the lane is compared to mid lane, preventing you from using too much Q. Plus, she can't engage like a lot of other supports could without it being a suicide attempt (using R).

Her ult is not useful during laning phase too much.

That said, if you know how to play well, her E does stop a lot of enemy ADCs from engaging or disengaging. Her W similarly can do that or displace them when they decide to become too aggressive. The downside, again, is herself being in attacking range.

Once mid-game occurs, her ult does shine quite a bit, presuming you know how to use it.

All in all, she is an okay support, but requires a set of skilled hands in order to play her well (I take her down to bot lane sometimes in Normals). I wouldn't try it in Ranked games, however.
