Warwick (Idea for making his Ult more dynamic)

I had this idea to make Warwick a little more dynamic both pre 6 and afterwards. This isn't intended as a full rework. Just something to make WW more fun to play until that fateful day eventually does come.

First step, mana, get rid of it.

Next, give him a bar similar to Aatrox's blood well. Lets call it......."fury". Have it fill whenever WW kills jungle creeps or minions in lane. Jungle creeps would fill it at a much higher rate as they are less plentiful than lane minions.

Then there's actually changing WW's ult. First, with the changes I will suggest here, I believe it should be available immediately. Like Karma. WW pre 6 is no threat at all and is a bore to play as.

Make the new "fury" bar be the battery for WW's ult. Say his "fury" is only half full, but top lane is looking ripe for a gank. He can go and expend his "fury" to use his ult, but with a shorter duration. If he ults with full "fury", he gets the full duration. Make his ult only usable when he has at least half of his "fury" filled.

This should make Warwick less of a "farm all game and only gank when your ult is up" to "farm for gauge, gank, farm for gauge, gank, etc..."

Hope this gets some approval from the community. I actually emailed Riot asking about a WW rework and while they said they couldn't give me any specific details at the time, they said I should try and post some ideas of my own on the forums. Nothing would make me happier than seeing this get noticed by some Riot employees.

One gripe I would have is defending nexus and not being able to charge the "fury"

Or assuming poachers and counter jungling becomes more of a thing, he could be denied quite a bit

But, thing is, you remove mana mechanics from him. Only thing that stops WW from infinite heal is mana. So, one he don't have mana, you will struggle a lot killing him. Aside from that, I like your idea. But, we're talking about riot. Reworking/crating 2-3 champs at the time, and since WW seems in quite ok spot right now, I dubt they would even bother. But +1 for you

I have never met a single Warwick with mana problems

I find him run out of mana early-mid game quite a bit. Don't know. Maybe I spawn Q too much

It's true that taking away mana would make WW much more sustainable if he were laning, but would that make him any worse than Vladimir or Garen?

And not that I don't agree with you that WW is in a good place right now, but it's for the wrong reason. He's only really good right now because of Devourer. Other than that, I think he just might be one of the most bare bones mechanics champs in the game. He needs some spice.

Yes that would make him worse than those two. Garen has sub-par sustain pre 11 (especialy if you can poke him), and vlad has long cool down. But that's for first 3-4 lvls. So nothing big. Especialy since he lacks eary damage to be real threat

I agree with you on second part. But lik I said, riot thinks he's in good state, so they think there's no need to change him

There was a small addition I considered. Whenever WW is in range of somebody with low HP and he gets his speed boost, his fury bar would charge. Adding to the idea that "nobody escapes the beast".
