What am I doing wrong?

I've been playing decent/well (with a few failures) in my recent games but can't seem to find a win. I don't really want to point fingers but usually it's another lane that loses and carries their win to victory. I roam as much as possible and nearly 100% of the time they are successful but even with that they still end up losing. The games tend to go downhill toward late and that's when my near perfect KDA gets mushed. It may just seem from the scores that I played average but I can tell you that it was what people would consider "fed" early game. I try and try to carry my lead to other lanes but even after I get them ahead, they just throw it over and over. I tried a different approach by ignoring them and getting myself strong but we still ended up losing, this time because my teammates were all weak, me being the only strong one. Because of this, I went straight down from Platinum II promos to Platinum IV (LP below 50) and it's not so much stressing me but making me wonder why. I've tried roaming/not roaming and I watch map pretty carefully so I can ping if/when/where I see the enemy jungler. Late game I can usually fight anybody and win (unless they are extremely tanky) but my team keeps trying to either fight without me or in disadvantageous conditions. I tell them to back off with pings but they go ahead anyways and die. I try to carry my games but it hasn't been working out and I honestly don't know what I'm doing wrong, any tips?

play with friends. counter pick your opponents. counter build your opponents. dont build your champ based on generic builds, but instead based on who you're playing against. make useful bans. take drake sooner. take herald sooner. dont die as much. improve your CS. improve your ping. improve your frames. consider your item needs and dont just build each item 1 by 1 in the same order every time. use runes that will help you against your opponents and not just in general. learn more about the champion roster other than just the champs you play. be more strategic in which summoners you take.

that pretty much covers everything.

edit

forgot these.

improve your typing skills. improve your mouse dexterity. use the instant cast function. turn the floating variables on. remove the extra useless info from the screen. learn to toggle lock your camera effectively. watch your map. fight for vision. know when to fight and when to run. ping effectively. learn to use your emotes for strategic purposes

Been doing most of these and unfortunately none of my friends are at my elo. Improving my ping/fps or anything that involves money is out of the question. I know a few things about every champion (though not so much Pyke because he's fairly new) so I am alright in that aspect and because of this, I can play Zed against some of the more difficult champions. When playing him, Flash+Ignite is a given, you might switch it up with something like Exhaust against counters but Ignite is basically the way to go. I adjust my build path and runes when necessary, I can type decently, my mouse dexterity is fine, I have everything on quick cast, I have the HUD at the smallest setting, I ping as needed, but using emotes for strategic purposes? What are you going on about. If it's the "mind games" to tilt the enemy there is a mute function. I usually use emotes to say things like "good job" but without having to type because it's faster.

Nearly all of these are just general tips (the last one was questionable) but what I want is some advise for my situation based on what my post says. What am I supposed to do when my other lanes are feeding? Should I help? Should I stay? What do I do if my team picks a pointless fight, dies, and the enemy is going Baron or charging down the lane? How do I prevent any of these from happening? What could I do to stop my team from making risky decisions with no merit? How do I stop my team from throwing? I need some tips for problems like these and not the basics. Thanks for your input though.

Should I help?

you should always help you team.

Should I stay?

depends on the situation.

What do I do if my team picks a pointless fight, dies, and the enemy is going Baron or charging down the lane?

depends on whether or not you died. whether or not you're jungle. whether or not you think you can prevent them from killing you and securing. depends on what you have to lose if they get it uncontested.

What am I supposed to do when my other lanes are feeding?

carry.

How do I prevent any of these from happening?

you avoid doing them yourself in order to minimize, but you don't prevent them.

What could I do to stop my team from making risky decisions with no merit?

ward and ping effectively. that's all you can do. you cant control other people you can only influence them by giving them knowledge. in a game like league that knowledge is vision and pings. if you ping onto their lane mias (because they'll be focused on their champion) they're more likely to notice it than if you ping mias onto your lane.

How do I stop my team from throwing?

win early.

hope that helps.

Anything else? This basically means I can't do anything more than what I am currently doing--so I'm on a tilt streak or just super unlucky.

it's possible you've reached your plateau. if you want to go further you'll have to start abusing the mechanics to the point of always being up to date with the most OP patch combination and carrying the game. otherwise you'll have to join a team of friends that way you can strategize. if you're consistently playing zed mid, but your allies are playing champions that dont synergize well with zed then that will be a problem. just like how if you want to play yasuo, but no one brings displacement you're going to have to do it all yourself.

I used to have a stream on twitch that would have helped you a lot, but nobody watched it so I shut it down. So now, you get nothing.

Well thanks...
