Vayne: Should She Be Passive Or Aggressive?

SuicideJ··1 votes·1,760 views

I'm having a disagreement with my support about how to play Vayne Vayne. I main ADC, he doesn't have the slightest idea how to ADC. I look up Pro's builds, playstyles, etc. He thinks he should go ham. I say no let me get my items so I can be viable. But, he goes ham and dies. Then, I'm to blame for because I didn't follow him in to the fight. I'm dead in only a couple of hits. So why would I go in? I'm trying to learn from people that are in higher tier ranking. They say play passively and he disagrees and it's my fault. Would you play passively or aggressive with Vayne?

I'm not sure what this matters for in game-terms but yeah... if she's anything like my girlfriend she's VERY passive-aggressive.

Elise You mean her?

Really depends.

Are you against a lane bully? If it's someone like Graves, respect him and get dat BORK. If it's someone like Caitlyn, get up in that bitch and harass the hell out of her, her superior aa range be damned.

Are you against another hypercarry? Unless you both decide to make it a farm lane (some supports, such as myself, are borderline ADHD. Actually I do have it, but still), supports will harass and do shit. Establish dominance. Be the one to snowball.

I'm all for zoning and harass by the support. I applaud it actually. But, the problem isn't their ability to play. It's their mindset of "I'm in charge, and if you don't go in when I say then it'll be feeding". I strongly am against that. It is a team game. And I know him in person. He admits he won't learn or change. I can't learn from him anymore. I learn from people who are good at league. He thinks they all suck cuz he has knowledge...

Oh man, I hear you. Sometimes the support needs to be in charge (aka they're the ones who have to react in that split-second for an engage opportunity), but it's more of a leader thing than a boss thing. Sometimes the adc needs to be in charge to dictate the flow of the lane. Really depends on the adc as well as the support, since Leona is likely to do the former, Soraka the latter, and Braum would be in between.

But yeah, that mindset you mentioned is terrible for bot lane. Bot lane is dynamic, the support and adc need to be in sync in order to function properly. If one of them tries to turn bot lane into some weird slave-master relationship, both are more likely to go on tilt.

But, er, if he's that aggressive, roaming is always an option. Gank mid or top lane, that's what I do if my adc wants to play passively (and doesn't need my assistance, especially if I'm playing an engage support).

Problem is.. I'm the ADC.. I'm not a jerk or think it's all about me which is what everyone complains ADC's are.. I just laid a battleplan on the ground, it was agreed upon, and it was changed in the middle of the game from the Champion I was playing Vayne . I can be a leader. I can be a follower. I can't change strategies on a dime that my champion isn't good with. At least not while I'm still learning her..

Depends who you are against.

I just had a Vayne as my ADC and i went Nautilus Support (my main support) vs Ashe (tele and exhaust) and a Blitzcrank(flash and exhaust).

Yeah, i let her farm, we poked them but the minute i landed a hook she was usually right there to hit them a couple times. Not every hook has to be a kill, just send a message. Especially because she didn't have heal and neither did Blitz.

If he's over extending and practically tower diving, don't join, he'll get the hint soon enough. It's hard to get some people to understand how to properly play or lane, they don't want to be told what they are doing wrong most of the time and usually think they are always right, welcome to the internet.

In my eyes, first 10 minutes is heavy farm for ADC. I will try to harass and keep a presence in the lane as much as possible so they can farm as much as they can. If i see a chance for an open kill, i will usually go for it and hope they follow up. If they don't and i don't die, it's okay. I'm not mad. We'll get them next time. I pushed them away from lane and they are falling behind in CS.

Just try to keep a clear head and not let them put you on tilt(getting angry or frustrated). It's hard with this game at times but it's the one thing you have to do because once you start tilting, you make bad choices, get angry and everything goes to hell.

He takes control. He refuses to follow me. I asked him at the beginning to play passively, he agreed. Then he lasted 8-10 minutes. Then he tried taking over and that's when it goes downhill. And he still believes he is awesome and I am nothing without him.

In that case, i would suggest you stop playing with said person. That is just my personal opinion.

That is also another issue. I can't find a good player anywhere and even if I do they don't use a voicechat system to make the communication quicker. But, I have a harder time finding people to play with that listen to strategy and welcome it rather than look out for their own interests. League doesn't have Guilds. It doesn't have connectors. We are completely stuck with random, selfish players who just don't care.
