Well he was nerfed to have a weak early/mid.

Legit weak.

And veig/lux/syndra already basically do the same thing lategame, even ziggs.

Vel koz as well.

Lategame AP never lacked for burst,it's just a matter of getting there.

But from 1600 range? Max Xerath can get on his Q is 1400, and while his Ult may be large, it's an Ult with a CD. That's 1600 with the only limiting factor being mana.

Kog´s ulti is dodge-able and if he spams it he´ll quickly run out of mana due to it's rising cost, even with a tear he can burn through it quite quickly.

If he stops firing the enemy can heal due to it being a while for it to reset.

And it basically doesn't deal that much damage to anything with even a bit of MR and full health.

If his AP build really were so strong as it's made to look the Koreans would be playing it.

And how do i know this? I´ve played it, both after and before nerfs and rework and revert.

Kog's ult doesn't burst lmao. He has 1600 range small circle dps ult. Your ult deals 180+25% AP at max rank. With like 400-500 AP (around what he will be getting) that's at most 300 damage. It ends up dealing reasonable damage only if you are below 40% hp when it begins to deal double that at 600 damage. That's not nearly as much as ADC dps and you need to get someone that low to deal the damage in the first place!

After his E's AP ratio was gutted, I just can't stomach playing AP Kog anymore. You're legit useless until at least 3 items, at which point you might as well play him AD.

Yeah that was BS but it still works and honestly because everyone's resistances are lowered and no one has MR he does well early. With new runes and ridiculous damage everywhere it just works.

happens. These people whine and whine and get the champion gutted. Just stay hush hush about the 0.51 second ult cooldown + presence of mind making you be able to shoot 9 (or 13 if they buffed it to 7s?) ults for free.

With the addition of presence of mind AP Kog can get away with just Morellos for mana. I like following up with tooth/rageblade to function more or less like an AP Marksmen. Gives him a nice backup damage source.
