I feel like moving Ultimate Hat to Domination will make Sorcery Tree obsolete.

The Sorcery tree is very underwhelming already, even for mages it doesn't offer a whole lot of anything and Ultimate Hat was one of the better runes in it. I feel like if you move that to domination and replace it with that useless Nimbus cloak you'll just be forcing mages to go own the domination tree instead.

Electrocute is still a hella strong keystone and not JUST for assassins. It's still really strong on mages, especially those with great rotations and offers a great amount of burst which is find is what most mages want, by putting the ultimate hat in domination you're just sweetening the deal for mages to abandon the sorcery tree.

As long as literally the only sources of mana regen in the entire game are Manaflow Band and Doran's Ring (oh also support items if you want to get technical) Sorcery will be mandatory for mages. It doesn't even matter what the keystones are, or what the other runes are. We literally don't have any other options.

Ultimate Hat isn't even good for most mages, look at the stats before you complain.

ZT Xperimentor11 votes

Stats aren't bad, it's the meta that makes it useless; why bother using some halfhour build when matches are decided in ten minutes?

AirKingNeo1 votes

over 90% of mages don't take ultimate hat in high elo

He's correct, and you're just arguing against reality.

ZT Xperimentor1 votes

And those 10% that do win late game because it becomes a free deathcap; the reality is that common games are actually decided in the first five minutes, lol.

Not sure why a mage rune is moving to the assassin tree for a rune which would work better on assassins to go in the mage tree. If Ultimate hat moves at least I'd never have to go into Sorcery on mid laners again, Sorcery is straight trash with Ultimate hate, without it the tree is worthless

because mage mains cry about having only one keystone

so riot makes mages able to go into domination with ultimate hat since right now if you don't have a dash you can't go into domination

but mage mains are still unhappy for whatever reason they want

Sorc Tree is gonna be dogshit without ultimate hat.

Soraka Time to move to domination since riot are the worst gameplay devs in the world.

Too many people don't understand that mages need to do constant dps in fights to a variety of targets, not just the squishiest one, electrocute isn't hella strong on mages.

When and where did they say they are doing this?

Malak1 votes

The notes didn't say anything about moving ultimate hat. It looks like they want to remove it. It's kind of funny how the minor runes in the precision tree are OP as hell but in sorcery they make the runes more and more worthless.

Oh well, I'll be using inspiration instead

Domination tree's garbage. Ultimate hat isn't strong enough alone too change this.

Yet the argument here is Sorcery is shit now without ultimate hat? Like what????

Sun Wu Ryuumoku1 votes

If sorcery is shit... its not due to ultimate hat, champs have higher wr with other choice than ultimate hat.

I feel the move to the domination tree is so assassins can no longer use this to lower their ultimates cooldowns, now image players can secondary in domination, get ultimate hat and still have sorcery as their primary.

Now I'm not agreeing with this move, as I play Nocturne and he is probably the most reliant on his ultimate, but I get what they are trying to do.

This will screw over mages who want max ult cdr with inspiration and ultimate hat. They will be forced to drop the sorcery tree entirely. Some of them might be ok with this, but the dom and insp tree offer little to many mages.

Not necessary. I don;t take sorcery because of ultimate hat. I take it now for comet + mana band + gathering storm and cdr sometimes arey. even playing karthus with Ultimate hat didn't feel to great since it took awhile to stack even after fully stacked it was still at a 100second cd at max rank (90 -88 depending if you got max cdr) which was still quite a bit.

PyroLux1 votes

Yeah sorcery sucks lol celerity is fucking dick, so is gathering storm, transcendence and absolute focus. Let's not forget about the "free hexdrinker" every assassin apparently got from nullifying orb, guess thats shit too.

Son Foku1 votes

Really?

Absolute Focus, Transcendance, Gathering Storm, Celerity, Nullifying Orb....

Sorcery has some of the best runes in the game, wtf

Vanjie1 votes

I mean they are replacing it with another movement speed rune when we have enough of that already. Is this really the best this Development team can come up with? They can do so much more interesting things and make the tree a little more fun to play, but they give us another movement speed steroid? It's honestly just lazy design.

Daunt1 votes

Tbh a lot of Domination users already use Ultimate hat. This simply makes it more approachable for classes like Mages to get into Domination.

LTK KoRo1 votes

You should compare minor Sorcery runes to minor Domination runes and then rethink your post

you say it like sorcery wasnt already obsolete

Hexs Fortune1 votes

I feel the sorc tree has some of the strongest non keystones runes and it'll be fine with or without ultimate hat

Ultimate hat starts out at 5 percent, then requires 5 more ultimate cooldowns to hit it's full potential.

Ultimate hat only stacks multiplicatively after 40 percent so you only get ~2\3 of the bonus when maxed cdr

nuclearwarpotato1 votes

I don't know. The only champs I take ultimate hat on are ones that I don't take sorcery as primary anyways. On anyone that I take Sorcery Primary I almost always take manaflow band over ultimate hat because the mana regeneration is kind of important on mages. This only lets me take both on champs like syndra that like both the mana and the ultimate cool down.
