Reduce chance to be crit.

Tanks would rejoice and battles would last longer than 3 seconds.

ADCs go back to building both Static Shiv and Phantom Dancer, effectively negating crit reduction when combined with Infinity Edge in exchange for losing a bit of AD during the mid game by not building a third damage item right away. They lose a little bit of damage during the mid game, but the three crit items combined percentages are more than enough to keep it at 100% even with a negative crit being applied.

Not much changes, but now ADCs are universally dealing critical teamwide magic damage from Shiv, moving through units from Dancer, have a 9% movement speed boost, because kiting wasn't easy enough yet, and are sitting on 2ish AS at the 30 minute mark, so any reduced AD they would have compared to a third damage item is made up for in DPS anyways.

Pretty sure that you might have actually just made it worse come to think of it. Let them stack damage in the mid game, my Rammus thinks it's all ok either way.

My item list that I'm working on (trying to come up with a new set of items for LoL to allow more diversity and force decisions) will not have Shiv, fear not.

Actually, fear a lot, because it's unlikely Riot would ever implement it >.>

adding AoE magic damage that can CRIT... isn't filling any gap from ANY ADC in the game... what? Waveclear? Who cares? They're the ADC, they're known for AUTO ATTACKING... Just because some of them (Caitlyn, as an example) have waveclear, doesn't mean they ALL need waveclear.

Shiv is a neat item that gives champions who previously didn't have a lot in the way of wave clear outside of taking down single minions at a time a way of keeping up with the likes of Ashe or Graves' ability to hit one key and delete an entire wave. Nothing wrong with it.
