Why not just add Victorious tokens

Instead of giving people skins for champs that they have no desire to ever play, you give them a End of season Token that they can exchange for any previous victorious skin. This wouldnt make previous skins any less unique but it would definetly be more satisfying to know that you can still get something that you really want by literally improving and working hard. And i feel like adding this would be nothing but a benefit since the whole idea of tokens is already highly acceptable.

Its really disappointing to grind to gold specifically for the rewards and end up with a really ugly skin for a champ that you never even played. This Vic skin is probably the biggest dissapointment with maokai and sivir right behind, it just looks like another skin he already has.

Completely ruins the point of climbing during a season. Just because you don't like what was chosen, doesn't mean you deserve to have a second choice. And it absolutely would ruin the uniqueness. You didn't suffer through the previous season's own meta, op champions, and systems which that Victorious skin came from.

Yeah, it sucks that you don't get anything you're really going to want to use. I'm sure that's how people felt from Season 1. That doesn't mean you go crying for recompense. It also sucks that you weren't around/ranked high enough for past season rewards. Doesn't mean you devalue the reward other people also put time and effort into getting under the assumption that they'd never be available again.

That would completely devalue older skins. I don't think you are considering how much more difficult it was to reach Gold in early Seasons. Right now its easier than its ever been. Victorious Jarvan for example, was given in Season 1 when Gold was the top 3% of players. What is it now? Something like 30%?

Multiple things, one serious, one joking.

Allowing people to reobtain older Victorious skins would honestly lower the uniqueness of previous Victorious skins. If you got Victorious Morgana way back when, you're gonna feel special that you were a player who got that. But if it's made that anyone now adays could get that skin, it wouldn't be as special.

And how dare you mock the magnificence of Victorious Maokai. His little tree friends work really hard to make him happy and presentable.

If you give people who already own the skin a border or similar compensation, the ones who care about rarity have a distinction and those who want the skin can get it without the border. Makes both sides happy.

Give tokens allowing to unlock any victorious skin and skin borders for skins of specific season. Anyone who got lets say Morgana back in the day... They would have victorious boarder for her skin compared to any token guy from next season.

As others have said, Riot thinks it would ruin the value of the older skins. Personally I'd rather give up my victorious Maokai and Graves in exchange for Morgana and Elise

Atm seeing a victorious janna or jarvan doesn't mean that player is highly skilled. It just means they played ranked when I didn't.

Victorious should mean you've hit gold and can show it off. Not, you can show it off only if you play this specific champion we designated for this year.

To leave some side input and another perspective. The skill level of the top 3% back then is like maybe gold now. In terms of knowledge, micro and creativity anyhow. This means the average gold player now could probably have gone toe to toe with gold players back then, excepting the top 0.1% as they were there for a reason.

There isn't a whole lot to devalue a victorious skin if no one uses it either, or at least a very small percentage of players who do ranked. When's the last time you saw Maokai in a competitive setting, let alone the skin?

Simply another perspective, definitely not my opinion though.

I think it could work like this - Each gold+ ranked gamemode grants 1x victorious token for season rewards Tokens can be spent on: Current season victorious skin = 1x token Previous season victorious skin = 2x tokens Victorious skin chroma = 1x token Gemstone = 1x token

So when we received Victorious Orianna chromas last season, that would be equivalent to buying the current season skin for 1x token + each additional chroma for 1x token each, matching the price list above.

Additionally, Riot could rarely give out more victorious tokens as exclusive rewards for large public tournaments and such.

Basically, if you weren't there to experience J4, Janna, Elise, Morgana, Sivir, Maokai, Graves, Orianna, or Aatrox at their prime of those ranked seasons, you don't deserve a skin for them.

Those skins are essentially a commemoration for that season in particular. If you never truly experienced what it was like being involved in a meta shaped by those champions during those seasons, you cannot truly appreciate why those champs were elected to have a Victorious skin in the first place.

Eh. Most victorious skins aren't that good, even if you let players pick you would still rarely see them in game. I don't really see the point in changing the system now after all these years.

A lot of people including myself feel very passionate about this topic I honestly feel we should vote on this and maybe try to push it up to riots devs?(Idk who It would go to or what department would handle this sort of thing). I feel like everyone who made the climb should get something they legitimately like at the end of the season. These rewards aren't free they are bought with sweat, tears, frustration and the time invested and I lost my chance at this aatrox skin for some of those reasons as was fitting since failed to remain honor lvl 2 till the end( no ban just chat restriction at the end), but for the first time this yr I made gold and way past that into plat. I am a aatrox main with 1.3mil despite it all I feel robbed. I wont bs and say I reformed" and that I instantly learned my lesson. that being said for many reasons beyond my personal ones definitively think this token system would be a great quality of life improvement to ranked rewards.
