Lux and Ezreal Ultimates Cannot be Interrupted

Can this please get a change, for the sake of clarity? When you see Lux or Ezreal preparing to fire their ults, you should get a sense of accomplishment for interrupting them, saving your team from a lot of damage and punishing the enemy for being in a position to be interrupted. But instead, knocking them up/flipping them over/stunning them does jack squat. The fact that the animations are purely aesthetic and that once the ults are started they can't be stopped really does not qualify as "clarity". I realize it may seem like a nerf for these two champions, but I honestly think it's necessary.

The long animations are more than 'purely aesthetic'. The facilitate a delay which allows you to take yourself out of the danger area, shield yourself and/or your teammates, or take some other action to defend yourself (Garen W, Annie E; braum/yas wall vs Ez)

It's a cast time, not a channel time. Casts cannot be interrupted. it's the same as knocking Annie airborne as she casts her Q or W. She will be displaced but the abilities will still fire off. Lux and Ezreal's ults are just longer cast times.

except in ezreals ult text, it says channels, so its confusing, leading to problems like this. I have no problem with lux's ult, but ezreals ult text specifically says channels

alright, thats clearly a tooltip error then and needs to be fixed. good catch.

correction, it no longer says that, instead it says winds up, I guess they changed it

This would be too big of a nerf in my opinion since their ults already give a second of warning. Compare Amumu and Annie's ult which are both highly damaging aoe stuns (presuming Annie's passive is up) and are instantly cast.

Annie as a whole needs a lot more counterplay in her kit, and IMO a rework to her ult and maybe other aspects of her kit. Amumu needs to be right in the middle of your team to be effective, and the high AP ratios are a relic of the early days of the game.

These ults have visual animations that imply channeling just like Fiddles and other channeled spells, which are possible to interrupt with CC. The fact that they CAN'T be interrupted is honestly misleading and doesn't allow clear judgment calls without being aware of this information.

its the same with garens ult, tristanas jump and other abilties.

its a basic mechanic of the game. some abilities have cast animations instead of channel times. meaning once the cast started they will finish.

the only way to break the cast is to kill them during the animation.

That's not true. They are animations not channels. The sole point of which is to give you time to get out of the way or set up your defenses

Edit: this isn't the one I replied to but too lazy to fix

Alternatively, we could look at Riven and let them animation cancel their Ult animations :D

This makes Fiddlesticks cry every time.

actually they can be interrupted... ive had lots of my EZ ults cancelled from CC ;-;

Well then at the very least, apparently knockups don't do anything.

While Lux/Ez ults are not interruptable, they have a long 'wind up' time before casting. This means 2 things. A blind fire cast with no CC greatly reduces the effectiveness of the ult, due to most people being able to walk out of the ult. Also keep in mind how their ults function: Lux is narrow but long, while EZ has a travel time, but is a little bit wider. Dodging them in both cases just takes a bit of awareness, greatly decreasing their potency. Also consider that while they channel, they are vulnerable to attack. Both EZ and Lux root themselves in place to ulty, so if they do it poorly or out of position, not only can the ults be dodged, but theyll take a ton of damage. With all this in mind, it makes sense that they cannot be interrupted. Allowing for Lux and Ezreal ulties to be interruptable would make them extremely weak, due to having to much counterplay.
