Sona Total Damage Question

I was just wondering, when Sona gives the damage bonus from her Q to her allies is that damage calculated as her damage or her allies damage? I ask because I am curious if that damage is being added to her allies total damage dealt to champions score at the end score screen after a game is completed or is it calculated for her total damage dealt to champions score. I also wonder if Ardent Censor is under similar rules.

As far as I know, it is added to her allies' total damage.

  • If her ally gets a kill with it, her ally gets credit for the kill.
  • The bonus damage is calculated using their penetration stats, not Sona's.

Ardent Censor probably follows a similar scenario.

Makes me wonder how much damage Sona actually brings to a fight.

If you picked Sona for damage, you goofed. She's a utility support: Provides some bonus damage to her allies, a good nearly team-wide shield and speed boost, and a great ult to quickly stop an engage. If you want more damage, Annie, Zyra, or possibly Karma are better choices.

She can do great damage, don't get me wrong, but that isn't what her kit is about.

Actually, her utility kind of loses out to most other supports but lets take a look at her damage output in teams. 1 Q with 40% cdr is on a 6 second CD. Each time cast it will hit 2 enemy champions for 200 +(%50 ap) to each. And in the extra damage she grants to allies and herself and that is an additional 500 (%100 ap) for a total of 700 (+200% ap) magic damage without calculating her passive or AA's. Now imagine her first two items (after ss) being item 3504 item 3050 and there you have a damage support. I've been finding it scary good in any team that has two tanks.
