Is the skill difference that noticeable between LAN and NA?

I am curious. I am Diamond 5 right now but, I could have gotten D3 if I decided to grind (am a student and midterms were a priority). If I switch to LAN will i be able to get master rank or maybe even challenger. I live in south Florida so for a long time I played on LAN until the servers were fixed in NA but, contemplating switching my smurf there to just test out the skill difference with preseason happening.
