If something is broken in this game... (discussion)

...shouldn't it be nerfed instead of buffing everyone that is doing slightly worse?

I don't understand. You wanted more than ADC's bot, but hurt ADC. Therefore, you massively buff ADC to the point where other things likely lose again, bringing back the original problem.

Then you say that ADC is underperforming on some specific champions. Instead of buffing said champions, why not nerf those that are doing TOO MUCH damage instead of bringing all ADCs to that insane amount?? What is wrong with the game going past 20 minutes that you just cannot stand?

Playing this game for 6 years and I can't believe how blind I was.

Realistically, balance is about figuring out WHERE you are comfortable with everyone sitting and striving for that point.

That requires both buffs and nerfs. If you always nerf, then you reach a state where nobody ever dies because EVERYONE sucks. If you always buff, then you start seeing extreme power creep. Both are bad, unless you're Diablo 3 in which case all you're after is killing demons and seeing big numbers. ;)

Right now, Riot seems to be of the impression that the 'where' they're comfortable with involves higher numbers than we have now, so they're buffing underperformers and only nerfing extreme outliers. I don't know if I agree with that decision, but I'll wait and see how it goes.

I just feel like buffing tanks and nerfing other roles with a "slap on the wrist" doesn't help the situation either. Like nerf the only 5 ADCs that are played too so they all feel like they have a chance of seeing play.

I said this in another thread, but... the damage thing is not inherently a problem. It's a perfectly valid way for the game to be. It just happens to be one that you and I both dislike.

But... Riot has millions of players. Maybe somewhere out there there're 10 million players who just happen to not frequent these forums who absolutely LOVE the higher damage version of LoL.

Or maybe Riot's team is just interested in seeing how something like this works out from a gameplay satisfaction perspective... afterall, people REALLY hated the tank meta where everything was just stall for lategame and nobody died unless a 6-item ADC went untouched for a while. So they could be trying a high-damage meta to see how it works for the sake of seeing if it works better, or to help them get more data to find a middle ground.

It's important when offering feedback to realize that you not liking something about a game does not make it BAD. That doesn't mean you can't offer feedback... you absolutely should. But just make sure to state your feedback in the context of YOUR PERSPECTIVE as opposed to generalizations like 'it's not helping' or 'this is bad'. They just confuse the issue and make it harder to glean your actual feedback out of the post.

I posted this in another thread as an example of the same point, but here's how I feel about the state of damage in the game:

I dislike the level damage has gotten to because it makes it much harder to play as someone whose reactions are not great, and it means that many of my favourite champions(enchanters) feel like they have very little agency in the game right now since their primary strength is significantly less valuable if people don't survive long enough for me to take advantage of it. I also feel like there are fewer decision points during fights to be made, which makes it feel less interesting for me.
