Alternative fix to Edge of Night

While I wouldn't mind if Riot just pressed the delete button on the item, it's pretty clear that they don't intend to do so. And I don't think numbers are the right way to fix the item. It'll end up staying strong until Riot makes it so weak it might as well be deleted. And no, making it melee only won't do shit, it'll just make it obnoxious on less champs.

When item 3814 was introduced, it was meant to be this roaming tool for assassins, preparing for their prey and making sure that they get the advantage in the coming fight. Right now however, it's most common uses are safely applying poke with no way to punish and/or letting champions turn on a dime as they activate the item and jump on someone instantly (so much for preparation).

If Riot truly wants the item to be a roaming and assassin tool, all they need to do is treat it similarly to item 3117 . Make it so players cannot activate the item without being out-of-combat for 10 seconds while making it also naturally disable after entering combat (not necessarily instantly, give them a 1.5 sec buffer or something). Assassins can no longer use the active to farm safely and Ranged champions can only use it to engage (ex: Jhin can still ult with it, but he can't walk back mid fight, pop it and ult. He either ults first or risks being interrupted).

This leaves it as an engage/preparation item rather than an all-purpose banshee with offensive stats. Any thoughts?

We should just buff lethality and nerf all cc

I don't see what could go wrong

Interesting idea... but I think it needs to be on in combat or it'll be just as useless, frankly.

I could maybe get on board with only being about to use the active while out of combat, though. That's a good thought, perhaps.
