What's all the playstyles of your favorite champ?
If there's one thing all these nerfs and reworks over the past year or so have shown me is that riot... well I don't think they know the game their players are playing well enough. I get that the have to balance things and have a ton of concerns but when it comes to what a champion is or what makes that champion click for the players they are a bit in the dark. I think this is especially true for champs with more than one aspect/lane/role in the game (don't ask me how they originally messed up cass though). Don't get me started on champs they want to put in one lane but give them a kit that's better suited for a completely different role.
Take Ahri. She's supposed to be halfway between a pure mage and a pure assassin. For awhile her assassin nature was too strong. Then they removed DFG and kicked her in the other direction. I think the nerf they have in PBE is going to push her further in the non-assassin direction. So while it should get her winrate down, it doesn't help her identity or long term health.
And it's kind of frustrating as a player. Yes the game has to be healthy but one day you have to play a champ one way, another day you have to play the same champ in a completely different manner with a different build. Or riot reworks a champ and doesn't get rid of its big problem in the meta but doesn't get the gameplay right either. Or you wake up one day and riot radically changed your second favorite champ to be something completely different than what it was and you can't even take it into the same lane anymore and they completely ignore major things people like about that champ and then you don't have a fall back because there wasn't really anyone else who offered that form of laning and now no one does.
I really think riot needs to take a more comprehensive look at how the go about balancing an reworking champions. It's like they are confusing one philosophy of doing things with doing only one thing. Going back to ahri her one thing was never supposed to be pure mage or pure assassin, it was I'm something between a mage and assassin who moves about a lot and picks my fights carefully. Cass was never just twin fangs burst or just a poison mage but a little of both, she was I've got this passive which encourages me to bully with poison until I'm ready for my devastating all in. Soraka was never a turret martyr, she was a protective banana battlemage who won by drawing out fights longer than the other guy wanted, and riot ruined her the day they linked her Q to her W at the beginning of last season because they never really got her comprehensive playstyle.
So who are your favorite champs and what are the ways to play that champ? What is that champ's philosophy in playing the game to you?
,
and
(somehow). How to play them? Well, farm and deny more minions possibile with your harass. If they try to engage, just pull back and keep kiting. He'll fall behind and be useless during all the game. GG WP.
just needs damage, and some speed to back it up.
Enough attack speed and his E can be refreshed before it's effect ends.
The rest gives enough damage to put the pain on champs.
Max Vorpal spikes, stack tank, shove lane. Why won't the jungle gank me? Because he knows he may die even if I don't build damage.
Mid range seige. Build some mana/mana regen and a little resistance like spirit visage and hang back with my ADC throwing down Q's, if an assassin tries to flank and take my ADC, I drop my silence under them, heal the ADC back up and poke the assassin out of the fight alongside my ADC.
Clear waves as I split push, when their duelist comes to try and kill me, I show him why you never pick a fight with Vlad when he's stacked. When the team fight comes, I enjoy hammering their entire team for massive damage while chunking their carries left and right.
Farm hard early, only gank if I have a guarantee. Once I hit six, gank every time my ult is up for a sure kill. When mid game comes around, I flank in, let my team poke some and wait for a chance to jump the carry and drop my whole rotation on the enemy team while my team swoops in and take the kills.
