See this is what I'm talking about. (Rant)

Awhile ago I made a post about how much unnecessary CC is in this game. Some champs have slows on skills that make no sense and my suggestion was Riot go through all the champion kits and remove unnecessary cc.

So with that said I was looking at the Eve up date. Looks good, nothing to CC heavy. her new W is a perfect example of what I mean about this.

W: LUST DUST Evelynn briefly curses a target champion or monster, briefly revealing her location to her target. Hitting the cursed target with basic attacks or Eve's other spells will expunge the curse, refunding Lust Dust's mana cost and significantly slowing the target.

If the curse lasts for at least a couple of seconds, expunging it will charm the target. If the target is an enemy champion, their magic resistance will be reduced for a few seconds. If the target is a monster, the length of the charm will be increased and the spell will deal bonus damage. Casting Lust Dust does not break Demon Shade's camouflage.

Its a good ability but why in gods green earth does it HAVE to have a slow when it ALREADY has a charm? What is the point other then to simply increase the frustration factor.

I'm not harping on the new eve i think shes going to be fun, and i'm not saying the new W is OP. I just asking why it has unnecessary CC on it.

The point of the slow is to set up for quicker damage at the expense of the locked-down effect of the charm. The idea is that if the curse sets long enough to charm, it gives the opponent time to position against it, so the quicker expunge should warrant something to make landing the spell mean something at least.

It's the same reason Kindred E has a slow. Even if you don't get the full combo off from it at least you got something out of your cooldown and mana expenditure.

Because the charm doesn't activate if you hit the enemy before it has had time to fully charge, and so she cannot charm you mid combat unless she just stops attacking you.

Basically she uses it as an opener / engage tool, after that it's just a tool to let her stick to her target.

Honestly this is better than her being able to reapply charm mid-combat.
