Weird Ekko mini rework idea I had

So Ekko is a mostly fun to play and well designed champion. the problems with his kit currently are that he brings too much utility for a champ that should in theory be built as an ap assassin. so as a result he just gets built bruiser and is super effective in this playstyle.

the easiest way to fix this would be to change his W which is a giant AOE stun, but how do you do this while leaving Ekko the ability to assassinate his targets? that's the hard one I see people struggle with. AP ekko needs his stun just as much as bruiser ekko. So I had an idea that might be too much, but I feel is interesting. wondering what people think of it.

So the idea is this. His Q, E are both the same as they are on live, as is his passive except he doesn't gain nearly as much movespeed or slow his target as much as on live. Instead his W is replaced:

Parallel Clone:

Ekko leaves an alternate version of himself In the targeted location for X seconds. (obviously more than 4) If he targets this alternate version of himself with his ultimate he will chronobreak instead back to the clone rather than simply going back 4 seconds. To prevent guaranteed instant chronobreak cheese, the clones would obviously have to be locked out from being ulted to for a few seconds. hell it could even have the same animation as current W with a 3 second windup of some kind. If Ekko ults to one of these time clones, he does not receive the heal or deal damage on arrival, but instead deals damage to enemies he passes through on his way back in time. (so more standard damage if he ults to the clone) the ult cooldown is significantly refunded if he chooses to ult to one of his parallel clones rather than just ult to his standard clone 4 seconds previously.

The idea I had here is that it gives Ekko players more outplay tools, but they have to make choices to do so. "do I want to go in for a trade and ult back safely, but then I don't have my damage dealing ult/heal for a bit or do I hold it and go for the big play". This gives him counterplay in lane as well as his clones would be visible to the enemy and they can play around accordingly. and since the ult won't heal him, any trade he goes in for is a risk. he can have the safety of ulting back sure, but he won't be healed, and then his ult is on cooldown. (albeit for less time than usual, but long enough to where he is vulnerable for a short while)

it might be far fetched and completely unviable, but it was just some thoughts I had late night. There would probably need to be a limit on how many of the W's you can have out at once. hell maybe even only one as he already has his 4 seconds massive AOE damage clone to worry about already. idea is just a rough idea so I'm not presenting this as some finished idea that I feel should absolutely rework Ekko. it's more just a fun idea and want to know what others think.
