meaningfull feedback on morde nerfs in 5.18

small self intro I'm an average silver player been playing since 2011 and been a morde since i started playing this game i dropped him after the deathgrasp nerfs ow wait... compensation.. then i picked him up and have been abusing him in botlane ever since the juggernaut patch.

now morde doesn't get many changes in 5.18 except that his W damage portion gets:

0.3 ap buff but no longer overlaps. healthcosts! yea makes a lot of sense riot to have health cost on a sustain skill, much logic there. can be self cast but only for the healing portion... sigh only affects 2 champions/minions. ... again sigh.

now why will this completely gut morde? simple; the sustain is what he relied on to outlive the constant poke he gets to suffer. ever been against an adc like: Caitlyn they poke you with their free passive bull. Draven good draven's land their axe's no trading possible here. you gotta wait till lvl 6 with a support like Lulu Janna Bard and you get poked to death. this is the part were morde needs the sustain to stay alive there are plenty of moments in this situation in 5.17 for him to screw up and completely lose lane here.

now you take away that sustain and you basically make that a freelo lane for the enemy. thats not healthy since i have no access to counterplay which is painstakingly getting to lvl 6 wait for a good gank and then double killing them bot... if its successful and your enemy jungler hasn't camped your lane hard (which most likely he will.)

so rant is over.

now what is wrong with these changes? well simple it won't fix solo lane morde infact he is even worse off then the deathgrasp fiasco i can tell you that sure its a small boost but this is not what he needs. duo botlane will now get hardcountered by champs like cait and draven something you riot proffess to be against. and the things that he can hardcounter now have a chance so thats good at least. but in no way will it make up for what needs to be done.

here is what i propose.

passive: should stay the way it is. this was done right nuff said. Mace of spades: get rid of that stupid high scaling and give it a missing health portion instead so it becomes an execute instead of just free damage after your support blitz lands his hook. harvester of Sorrow: the only change you should perhaps go through with is the reduction in healing and leave the rest for what it is AND LET IT BE COMPLETELY SELF CAST. you already get only half of its power being selfcast anyway and in no way will it harm duo lane morde. siphon of destruction: no changes here children of the grave: no changes here

and for the love of god give him his 340 movespeed back.

Oh and q also has a higher health cost, too.

i completely agree on the q and the w bump that to 75% because the new darius is ridiculous with that q heal with champs and minions in ranged is stupid

I feel these are going to be massive nerfs. No overlap, and no self cast damage. I mean why no self cast damage? They already took 1/2 power from w taking away the overlap. So w now costs health, and does less heal, plus no solo damage? I'm afraid that Morde's self inflicted damage from his kit well Nullify any sustain. :( Sure you can Ult a tank for a nice heal, but remember Morde is VERY squishy when his shield is down. With the fact Morde can be easily bursted, and now has a big decrease in sustain, how shall one stay alive to deal the damage?

Morde's armor also got a nerf. So he's even SQUISHIER.
