Kindred, do they really fit their theme? Disappointed.

This post is not about whether they're is overpowered or not, it's about that new champions should bring something new, what does kindred bring? A marksman jungle? Is that innovating? No, it's just like how some supports can top lane and support.

Do they set up a good gank and get rewarded for it ? No, they put their w down, put their e on someone, spam dash and autos and the enemy laner dies, outsustains other junglers with a passive that can be used without even having to fight, doesn't really have anything new or special in her kit besides kiting seen on various other marksman, an ult that doesn't even fit their theme.

That's how I see kindred, kind of disappointing, she's fun to play because her ganks are so ridiculous and her sustain is arguably the best out of the junglers but that's about it, was hoping to see something new other than what seems to be a Frankenstein champion. (Heaps of things already seen put into one champion).

And what might be the most disappointing is when I'm playing Kindred it feels like wolf is an accessory, not my other half.

While Riot have done well to make them balanced (In most places), I don't think they've met the 50/50 dream team (Two champions in one if you know what I mean).

And do I feel like I'm playing the embodiment of death? Nope, their ult saves people even. (When I play karthus I do feel like I'm playing death itself).

(I'll use exact numbers here)

Let's look at their kit:

Passive: This is the only part of her kit that fits her theme as a hunter, everything else while of course you could argue are tools to aide her, they aren't anything special or unique) (Though aiming priority targets is normal in league it rewards you more for it).

Q. A Dash similar to these champions: Ekko Graves Kalista Lucian Nidalee Renekton Riven Shen Vayne

W. Sustain that charges / On auto attack sustain by ability.

Aatrox Elise Maokai Nunu Nocturne RekSai Renekton Warwick XinZhao

W "Wolf attacks nearby enemies and while in this field her q get's reduced to 2 seconds"

So "Wolf" Does DOT to nearby enemies or the enemies that lamb attacks... Malzahar ...?

A field that empowers? Akali Azir Ekko Janna Jayce Maokai Nami Nocturne Orianna Thresh Trundle

E. A THREE HIT PROC. Aatrox Diana Ekko Jax Mordekaiser Vayne Varus (Kind of for varus)Vi XinZhao

R: A field that effects enemies and allies in the same way: Bard

Prevents death by ultimate:

Tryndamere Zilean Lissandra Bard Ekko Kayle Kalista

My view on kindred.

Hold on RIGHT there. You're drawing some honestly unfair comparisons Of course some champs will have the same mechanics as others. Do you expect Riot to come up with a new mechanic for every champion release just to keep them unique?

Champions can only be measured by their kits as a whole. That defines their playstyle. Looking at each ability in a vacuum and comparing them to other champions creates an impossible and unnecessary standard

Oh no, God forbid that!

KIndreds kit as a whole isn't anything new, that's what I'm trying to say by this post, and you also didn't address where I said she doesn't fit her theme, as a hunter a bit, as a dream team? Nope.

Thematically from what I've seen and played of them, they're death and you can't get away from them and fighting back just makes it worse.

Normally her pattern is slowing with E and using Q to make sure to get that third hit in. This is Lamb's chase. Those who fight back get to deal with Wolf as well (like the lore kinda), while being kited REALLY hard Just to make sure everyone understands that you can't kill death, on top of the kiting she has in-built sustain (which no other marksman in the game has) and that god-forsaken ult.

I think that their kit is thematically fitting, especially considering these champs don't just operate as some kind of duo team like people peg them as, they operate as two halves of a whole. The tag-team kind of thing is best left to Quinn's rework.

To be honest, I hate playing against Kindred because they're anNOYING and I hate playing as them because I find their kit to be unethical, but Riot did a good job with this champion's execution.

This is just my interpretation, but I think all these comparisons to champion's individual abilities as if a new champion is anything but a different playstyle and role is really going in the wrong direction. Riot's exploring different strengths within all the roles, and this can create some pretty unique champions. I hope they continue to expand each role, personally.

I hope they never give another champion infinitely scaling % health damage, though. That's a unique thing of Kindred's technically but god I hate it

Champions can bring new things without doing ridiculous things like Dota 2's Bloodseeker Ult

Good dissection but I have to agree with the OP that kindred doesn't bring anything new.

Ugh I so agree Kindred's kit is so lackluster. Their passive is the only thing that I would consider fitting to their theme. The Q is boring, the E is boring, and the W active is never really useful unless youre dueling. And dont get me started on that ult....

I was so pumped for their release from the badass teaser and then so let down on what could have been done but wasn't.
