Atma's, Executioner, and SotD were removed. But what is Frozen Mallet's fate?

We all know Frozen Mallet is MOSTLY an inferior item pick to Warmog's Armor or Randuin's Omen due to its insane cost, but Riot has also stated that they dislike its permaslow because it kills counterplay if you get hit by it. One tap, and you can't kite to survive anymore. You generally have to fight or die because you won't easily get away.

I'd like to know what the plan is for our big blue hammer. Greyor the Eternal Guardian will be displeased if it has to be chucked out of the arsenal.

EDIT: I am NOT suggesting they remove it. I want to know what they plan to CHANGE with it.

I think they kept it just because of Kalista. She would be too good if there wasn't an item that could counter her. I bet there is other reasons such as support for melee champions. Now that I think of it, it was probably only kept to support melee champions since little ranged champions buy it usually.

if they remove Frozen Mallet from the game all hope has been lost for all melee's to keep mobile champions in their sights. It makes extremely mobile champions kill-able. Period. If they remove it we all know that they want mobility to be the meta of the game and therefore make non mobile champions obsolete.

I was not implying that Riot should remove it (or at least I didn't intend to imply). I want to know what they plan to change about it.

Why change what is working fine?

Perm slow is bad because there is no counter play. Mallet put the owner quite behind in stats, which his opponent should have little problem against.

It would be a LOT better if it worked more like Vayne's Silver Bolts or something like that. As in, attack a target three times in a row, inflict a massive slow on it rather than starting a permaslow from ONE HIT.

This would enable the person being attacked to try and do something about it rather than just getting screwed from one tap. It would enable COUNTERPLAY.

And if there's good counterplay available, the item can either be cheaper or have better stats.

The point of buying a slow is to catch people who are too fast to catch. If I can hit them 3 times, they're not fast enough and the item would not not be needed to begin with. Again, if you are vayne, 3 hits are easy, not with Garen/Darius/Shyv.
