Even though last Worlds was a mess it was way more entertaining to watch than this year's.

There were a lot more champions picked, team fights actually lasted longer and the occasional Juggernaut going all ballistic in team fights was really entertaining to watch. This worlds feels somewhat boring except that ROX/SKT game.

There's always the same champions being picked and you don't really see a lot of variety. The team who gets more gold by farming wins, there's not a lot of comeback opportunities and team fights are decided in a matter of seconds.

Last year not having Keystones might also be important to mention

MF support was interesting, though might as well stirred up its own shitstorm in soloQ.

Don't forget that NA and a wildcard team made it to quarterfinals this year. It's rather an accomplishment even though it's by mostly luck.

I'm still kinda disappointed with them still leaving him hanging. Darius is way better off than Morde, and Skarner's got an impressive win rate.

This feels like such a misconception. Sure, it was the only one that specifically triggered when fighting jungle monsters (I guess we're not counting Warlord's), but jungling is more than just PvE farming - you have to fight enemy champs eventually...

Oh no doubt. But unlike most other keystones (except release and rework warlords) it actually made an impact in your jungle clears. I personally dislike grabbing say TLD and only seeing it proc when I gank. It's early game power that's wasted because I'm not constantly ganking.

Garen got indirectly buffed with BC and his main items being strong as hell, so don't say he is bad in anyway, Morde however just has a poorly designed kit and a pretty bland design in general. He is the generic big suit of armor dude who tries to be scary. If they wanted to make him a big rework they should've gone Poppy level with him, keep his identity, but update his kit to fit in with these modern kits.

Garen was strong (even better then Darius) but fell off because of the current mage meta that strongly favoritizes anti-mobility.

As for Morde......yeah......pretty sure that's why we don't see CertaintlyT.

At least shit like Mordekaiser and Gangplank being played was pretty fun to watch and diversity was soooooo much bigger.

And the meta wasn't just damage daMAGE DAMAGE DAAAAAMAGE like it is now with just everyone picking safe ranged options and making things both boring AND excessively quick.

Damn yeah it was so fun to watch darius getting multiple penta kills while having 5 defensive items, it was the staple of high skill and competitive play.

cause you know, darius had 0% win rate against gnar, it's not like ranged champs were always more broken then melees :^)

I feel like it's kind of a sign of too many overnerfings or dumpstering other champs in lieu of the fotm champs. Ekko has been viable since Preseason this year year, mainly in competitive, but also throughout ELOs. Lmao.
