Why would Poppy create a zone that explodes. . .??!

I think it's clever to have her swing her hammer with such force, that it breaks up the earth, making terrain that's difficult to traverse; that's neat! But it shouldn't explode!

The earth does not just explode randomly, no matter how hard you hit it with a hammer! That's not a thing that happens!!!

Everytime I see it, I think "wait, is Graves here?" Because the explosion looks like it's his attack. It just feels like an attack Poppy should not have, and frankly Poppy seems to be powerful enough that she doesn't need to have an extra nonsensical explosion.

Of all the illogical things in this game, you chose that? There's a swath of things that don't obey the rules of reality in League, and the explanation more often than not is magic. Assume magic.

I don't believe there is any history of this occurring; it's not a thing that can happen. Not with a hammer that can be held in your hands.

I do think it would be cool if fireballs shot out and rained down everywhere, but instead it's an explosion, which doesn't even match the image of a volcano.

for those saying it's necessary for her kit, wouldn't it be just as valid if Poppy is bolstered for fighting in the region she's destroyed, gaining attack speed and movement speed perhaps?
