This is around the 5th time its happened.

Has been demoted 5-6 times from Plat 3 to Plat 4 but thats only after losing one game at 0 lp
We'd win 3 times and lose 4 times and he'd demote instantly. It wasent like that before so im not sure whats happening.
ViciousSummoner1 votesYou lose more MMR than you win. If your MMR also happens to be too low for your rank you'll demote much faster.

When I climbed to....well, tried to climb out of silver 5, the same thing happened to me, I would've got demoted the first loss at 0 LP, even if that loss was the first game after promos. But we know that LP is gained/lost based on your MMR compared to the others, but.....I was gaining 20+ LP per game, but losing 17 or lower per game, so by that rule, my MMR was higher than the avarage, so why would I get demoted at first loss if it was as you say it is?
After that I went full tryhard and climbed from s5 60 LP to s3 20 LP win straight wins, so I can't say what it was. But still, that happening 3 times in a row did get me tilted.
ViciousSummoner1 votesGetting demoted instantly from 0 LP would require you to lose quite a number of games. I've never actually been demoted after 1 loss from 0 LP while in a new division. I have been demoted at 0 LP with a substantial amount of losses despite going evenly in wins and losses.
My only guess now is that you somehow lost 3 or 4 games and won another 3 or 4 getting 100 LP. Afterwards in your promos you lost the maximum amount you could and then won your promos. This might explain why, but a scenario like so is very unlikely.

The Soulforged1 votesOh my this happened to me 2 seasons ago a lot as well. All divisions seem to just allow 1 loss at 0 lp then an instant demotion as though your promotions meant nothing.
