> Note for ranked: To protect competitive integrity, Diamond V and above players will also take a loss when the dc’d player is in their premade; We’ll keep an eye on this restriction to see if it needs to extend to lower ranks http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/game-updates/player-behavior/play-games-matter/remake

Yesterday, I saw a Gold in my ranked match paired with a bunch Plat 1/Diamond players. He was duo with a Plat 1 who was boosting him, which can be concluded by his match history and stats. From what I gather, the Gold went AFK in champ select to do whatever the fuck, and forgot to swap champs. His duo boosting buddy goes,

  • "Oh no! We can't have my boostee lose LP, I'll DC before I enter game since my LP doesn't matter anyways. That way I won't have to re-boost him another game"

The rarity of somebody doing this is high, but should still be addressed for lower ranks (Plat/Gold, not just Di). The only people who are going to abuse this are people boosting other players since the LP on the account they are boosting the other player on does not matter, and the LP of the customer does, he can DC with no real consequence and save the other player from having a loss.

Sadly riot has not been on the ball in the past with similar situations (bork bug boosting comes to mind the boosted players never got banned during it even at high diamonds as i was diamond 3 at the time) idk if it is because the player being boosted have bought enough skins to warrant them acceptable evils, but ya I would not get your hopes up. Good to see that in diamond they are doing something though
