She lacks proper waveclear even at rank 5 Q. Using two Q's costs her her entire energy bar. Her Q requires her to get into almost melee range which is extremely hard to do come late game.
Not really, her Q is buffed at max rank against minions, and should typically be the first skill you max anyway. Other melee champs have to get in melee range to clear waves, and do so very successfully. The key is positioning and timing. She isn't meant to be an AOE machine. Also, her shroud restores energy. If you're using her kit efficiently, you'll be able to drop 3 Qs within a few seconds of each other to clear a wave.
Her E is strong but it is not one of the best abilities in the game. It's funny how she can use E while someone is teleporting to fly to the other side of the map with a hilarious animation. I think her E needs to work like a Lee Sin Q where she has to get into range.
I disagree, Akali's E is among the best abilities in the game, partly because of the mechanics you mentioned. If you get marked by her E, she can follow you anywhere There is no escaping her unless you wait for the mark to fall off. It is also very useful for getting out of the circle to proc the empowered attack from her passive. Then you can either smack with a quick Q then E back in to attack, or vice versa. Either way, paired with Gunblade, a full energy combo from her at 6 should be enough to drop almost any non-tank opponent.
Her ultimate has a long cooldown at all ranks including with ultimate hunter. There is a 2.5 second delay after using the first part of her ultimate.
The 2.5 second delay is a bit rough, and I'd argue that there should potentially be a reduction in that time. That said, after 30 or so games with her recently I can confidently say that if you are using her kit properly, the cd/delay is actually relatively balanced. Using R to engage and blow a full combo, then execute or R back out of an engagement is usually fairly successful, except where there are silences/roots/stuns dropped on you without something like banshees veil.
Other champions can do the same damage or more easier than Akali can.
Her kit is designed to make her balanced against other champions. She has high mobility and high burst damage. The biggest threat to Akali is stuns/roots/silences. Barring those, she is a devil to deal with as a squishy, and making her damage any more accessible than it already is would be overkill.
All I see is Akali shroud complaints. If Riot gut her shroud, then she will become a very weak champion in my opinion.
No one is proposing to gut her shroud, only to impose the same limitations on it as any other invisibility. The problem people have with her shroud is that she is invisible to true sight in such a way that makes it so she can functionally fight under tower without holding tower aggro as long as the shroud is up. Taking this away takes away some of her strength, but ultimately, I don't think it will make her any less viable as an assassin than she already is. Her ban rate in high-level play is insane because of her shroud.
