How to counter renekton?

So. I was doing my bronzie ,average game...friend DCed cause spectrum is a highly stable internet source(low ping like 3 games before,then we go into another and his internet appears to be out until tomorrow) which led to the mid laner getting fed and killing everyone. but in lane I was VS a . I never did find a counter to him. takes down , doesn't do too well either, as his stun boost's his AA range a bit and her W has a long cooldown doesn't do too well either. and I can't really find how to itemize against him, doesn't do too good as he always does the same combo in the spam of 2 seconds,he get's black cleaver which makes some problems,i couldn't play safe as if I left turret he could just dash onto me,even if I was under turret he would A:outrange cause of his range extension or B:ult. is nice and all but he falls off to where he can only get the support or ADC... one thing worth noting is he took ignite. so by level three with my max morde shield he left me with 7 HP in an all in,so early game is incredibly dangerous with any champion (BTW this is all his ability's and ignite. not even an extra AA) so my point is what counters him.
