About Nautilus Titan's wrath

I am a big fan of nautilus so I'm really concerned about his current state. So I'm here to talk about a balance change that has been talked a bit to help nautilus with his jungle clear time.

Nautilus titan's wrath bonus magic damage aoe dot is now "divorced" from his shield existance.(but not a passive, just last for 10 sec)

I really wonder what do you think about this at Riot.

First, without talking about balance, nautilus without the titan's wrath animation look like a giant kid that doesn't know how to hit and actually hit like a girl (sorry). => big satisfaction improment if he could hold his fighting animation.

Second well it would help his first clear time that really look horrible with the new jungle even if he is not alone with this problem.

Last point is now about later in the game when jungle camps don't break his shield (so the change wouldn't change anything for the jungle at this point of the game). It would affect his power in team fight when the enemy team wouldn't have the choice to break his shield to delete his whole form of dps.

First is it necessary ? Second, if it is necessary to reduce his dps well maybe it should just do that - reduce his dps - and not removing it completely. So adding a debuff (or anything) that reward the enemy team for focusing nautilus.

Thought?

Edit : can you guys post and not only upvote please ? I'd like to see if there is any real flaw in this suggestion.

Edit 2 : An other question I've always wanted to ask is why does Titan wrath scale with attack speed ? Even Xypherous said Nautilus was designed to have a really poor attack speed scaling. http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?p=20822768#20822768 It looks like a noob trap.

Wouldn't it be better to make a dot like poison and cause an auto attack to refresh the duration instead?

This should have been done a long time ago, but riot refuses to do this sungle buff to nautilus.

Yes, I have the same feeling. So now if Riot doesn't want to do that, maybe there is a reason. Since they haven't talked about nautilus for a while now, with the new jungle I feel that it's time for them to show they care.

I think they are going to wait till his new model is out.

Sorry, what model are you talking about ?

The reason is that Xypherous believes this is how Nautilus should draw threat. If there's no way to make the damage go away, why even bother attacking him at all?

Remember, this was back when diving and peeling weren't a thing yet and people just attacked targets in order of most to least threat. Tanks were struggling because they were just left alone until last and were unable to kill anything once their team was dead, so their toughness didn't matter and they were just glorified supports putting their money into useless survival items.

The only relevant tanks were "tanky dps" (bruisers) and those were blatantly OP precisely because you couldn't stop the damage without chewing through 10K EHP worth of Jarvan or Garen.

So it is no surprise that Riot went with this solution.

It makes no sense for them to change it, because it would remove all interactivity and counterplay from the ability. Granted, "counterplay" leaves a bad taste because several champions have been nerfed in the name of counterplay (Sion, Skarner) and most people care less about counterplay than about viability, including this thread. If they do unlink the damage from the shield, this means they have thrown in the towel and don't care about him anymore.

It's no more than an AD bonus counterpart for AP. And the counterplay is already there because it's tied to his auto attack and the counterplay is just to kite him once you managed to avoid his CC, like any auto attack damage dealer.

My point is not about removing counterplay, it's about changing an easy counterplay from something more fair and in the same time adding a visual bonus by keeping his fighting stance for a whole fight (it would be a really BIG visual buff).

Once you break his shield (and it's really easy at any time in the game) you remove his only Dps skill from the equation (and I talk about the visual satisfaction too) and I'm not okay with this.

I'm not really worried about his jungling clear anyway, if the skill get nerfed in the process (the damage) I would be okay with it.
