So, is Viktor FOTM in higher elos now? I'm getting worried about the nerf hammer

I've seen a bit more of him down here in gold which makes me a bit scared that my secret weapon is getting some attention. In my eyes he is a completely balanced champion with strengths and weaknesses but with enough skill, you can compensate for those weaknesses. Sounds fine right? Well, nerfs came down on people who were in similar states before their own nerfing.

A few years ago, I would've loved the attention...then after everything they did to Kassadin, my other main mid, ah...well...you saw what happened there...before Kassadin became FOTM, he was considered completely garbage, one of the worst mids. Then...you know what happened.

Similar situation: back in the day people said there was no reason to play Viktor over Orianna, then after his rework, only the most diehard Viktor players continued to play him...now he's a solid pick in LCS. No mobility, medium utility, but massive damage to make up for it. Which is funny since his damage is actually similar to pre-rework Viktor when he was considered garbage tier

A lot of champs that go FOTM that aren't insane playmakers like Lee Sin or Zed get nerfed quick (see Sejuani) because when unnerfed for so long, they rise above their competition. Well, Viktor always could stand his ground vs the FOTM mids, Korea discovered this in competitive play, and now it's spread =/
