@Meddler: How would you make a Champion's built-in "Pickpocket" passive?

Now, for this, I don't mean the support mastery, but something like the following:

Whenever Severa damages an enemy Champion with an ability, she places an Easy Prey mark on it for 4 seconds. Whenever she lands a basic attack or Hoodwink on an enemy marked by Easy Prey, she consumes the mark, gaining 10 bonus gold and 20/30/40% bonus movement speed for 1 second (increases at levels 7 and 13, respectively).

Additionally, whenever an enemy Champion dies within 4 seconds of Severa dealing damage to them, she gains 25 bonus gold.

Numbers aside, does this work? Or would it be too risky to be realistic?

I -really- like the idea of taking gold from an enemy champion, though I'm fairly certain it'll never happen.

Stealing gold that another player has already earned is 100% anti-fun, so it won't happen.

And 100-0 from someone like LB, zed, and any crit builder isnt anti-fun too?

@OP You can make it so you "steal" their passive gold instead of their active gold. LIke use it, and for the next 5 seconds you gain their passive gold instead of them.

The idea is that there is absolutely no counterplay to having the gold that you already farmed stolen from you. Plus it's a matter of being completely unfun for the victim, and no way possible for it to become "fun" for the victim.

I'm sure Xypherous or someone from Riot could explain it better, but the bottom line is that gold theft is considered a forbidden mechanic.

In the case of Leblanc, you could get a Banshee's Veil to block one of her spells. In Zed's case, either Zhonya's Hourglass or QSS screw over his ultimate.

Abilities which you cant control and abilities which take control away from you were also considered forbidden; we have riot posts from years ago stating plainly that we would NEVER have those mechanics. Also, counterplay should NEVER come in the form of an item. This isnt DotA, where you make everything overpowered and have items as counterplay. Riot has developed a design mentality of "built in" counterplay; its what they tote in their nerf rifle most of the time for their reasons.

What would be wrong with "stealing" passive gold, though? This conceptual passive also doesnt state whether or not it steals gold; just that it grants gold. If it doesnt "steal" their active gold, then its a fine passive for a poke based support; Even better if you make the mark proc on minions and let it proc for 50% if an ally kills the marked one.
