If your opponent is out trading you, trundle can take farm under turret really easily, you can kill the melee minions after the two turret shots and if you use chomp you can kill all the ranged minions after 1 turret shot, which will also be boosting your health because of your passive.
^that is normally for when you are facing a ranged opponent that is poking you down alot but also works if you are not comfortable against a specific melee opponent.
In most melee fighting situations trundle can out trade a lot of people.
If they do not have a silence your short trade is this:
aa+q+aa
if they do have a silence your short trade is this:
q+aa
don't chase on your first or second trade only chase if they are at or under 3/4 health
when you want to chase:
aa+q+w chase use your q as often as you can but always try to aa then q
Only use your e if it will:
- allow you to force them out of lane
- get you a kill
- stop a gank or bad trade
in 1v1 situations when to use your ult
if you are trading fairly evenly:
use your ult a bit later in the fight so that if they run away the dot might kill them
if you are out trading them:
only use it if they are running away, you have no way to catch up and you are sure it will kill them
if you have been losing extended trades in the past:
once they start to all in use it right away
In team fight situations:
if the enemy has a fairly large wave and someone on your team is just clearing minions:
you can probably engage with your e+w the q the closest person and go to town, your passive
will help you a lot of what the enemy might send your way, it makes for a pretty safe engage
In most other cases I think he is best suited as a baby sitter for the adc:
You don't have a good dive but you are extremely good at stopping dives
