Support needs to be a little more rewarding/interesting

Lets face it. nobody wants to be support. aside from the threshs and the cranks here and there. nobody wants to be support and is usually the last person to not pick is the one that gets the role and more often than not. they don't pick a support champ. including me. why does it have to be such a bad thing to be a sup? obviously because its not rewarding. you basically hand someone else the fun on a silver plate. game is about having fun not winning imo and support role really doesn't do it right now. I mean i did use soraka few times. but its really monotonous to sit there and heal and do nothing else.

Everyone has their own playstyles. I personally find Support very fun and rewarding shrugs

I think this is preference, some people just like being the support or the warthog driver (halo reference), and so on. Riot this patch did benefit supports A LOT this time around with increased gold income and the ability to your support item with Sightstone to make more room for items.

The supportstones are kinda pointless right now, untill we get some balance changes. I've yet to have a game that lasts untill I get a full support build.

If all you did is heal and do nothing else, you're doing it wrong. You harass the enemy to make it harder for them to play and survive, you ward so nobody ganks the ADC you're fattening up for later, you roam to help people that could use it when you have the chance, you control map vision and pay attention so you can shot call etc.

If Soraka is the only thing you've tried as support, it's not surprising that you think all you do is heal, but you're doing less than the bare minimum like that. You don't have to pick a back line healer; you can tank or be a kill threat too. You're basically a solo laner that isn't CS'ing.

I suggest trying out some other supports. It's true that a lot of people don't like to support, but that means if you're good at it then you're an asset to your team whereas another person would do like you said and not even do their job.

If you want an aggressive support play off mage Morgana Karma etc. Both are viable at the moment with the game being pushed more towards snowballing.

Braum Nautilus Thresh Blitzcrank Leona Sona These are all amazing supports with Kill potential. I play all of these champs (with the exception of Leona due to my not owning her). These champs can and will make supporting fun and rewarding and can make interesting plays at almost any stage of the match. I main Support and Jungle so I should know what I'm talking about. Try and learn the position before you go saying saying stuff that just isn't true.

I main supports. Just because you don't find it interesting or rewarding doesn't mean it isn't. Sorry if it sounds wrong, but stick to your own role because support clearly isn't for you, and you can't criticize something you either don't understand or don't like. I for one love supporting, every aspect of it. You can support with a heavy damage champion and stay strong throughout the game, or play a heavy utility or support-y type champion and just provide enough of a springboard for you teammates to do well throughout the game.

By nobody, you mean you and your friends? maybe a few random people here and there?

I love support, and I find it more rewarding to get my team fed, than to sit there and just farm minions all the time.

And just so you know I don't even own Thresh or Blitz cause I find them kinda boring, but that's my opinion. I do enjoy the heal-y supports more than anything, but I will always love Morgana & Zyra as my mage style supports!

If you want the role to be interesting to you, try the various supports available. If you've only tried a handful of them, and didn't find one that you really enjoyed, then maybe A) the support role just isn't for you or B) you just haven't found a champion that you enjoy in that lane.

If you are interested and like the Mage style supports but don't want the two I listed you could always try Annie or Brand The stuns from them are pretty strong.

I've even seen Nidalee Ashe & Kennen work well as supports.

Mind you I do not play much ranked, this season I only played maybe 15ish games, but the reason for that was because soooooo many people kept wanting to be in the support role!
